Putting Kubiak head and shoulders above Ryan is totally misleading. They've had very similar success as head coaches. As coordinators they both won SBs, but both have failed to do so as a HC. Ryan is younger in his career then Kubiak, but most likely has the same ability to grab from the coaching pool due to their profile. And Kubiak had Elway, Young and Schaub. Ryan had Sanchez and a slew of garbage.

Given our need for a strong QB focused guy, Kubiak probably makes more sense, but to try and make a giant statement about how different they are is pretty lazy.

What are you talking about?

I'd love to see the Bears hire a coach that has done it before. Then I look at the available options, and I'm not excited about them. I'm guessing we go with a coordinator.

I like Harbaugh more then Rex or Kubiak, antics or not. 3 consecutive NFC championship games, SB, more successful then both the other two and likely to be successful

Everybody would want Harbaugh, all things being equal. But the stuff that comes with him is too much. Hell, it may be too much baggage for Rex, those at least he's been relatively quiet the last 2 years.

I wouldn't have a problem at all with Harbaugh. I really don't even care if the next hire is here for a decade. Ideally that's the way it would work with a successful coach, but I could live with 3 good years and then a falling out if that is what comes to.

@AdamHoge: If #Bears lose Sunday, they’ll have a road game next yr at Tampa Bay. If they win, they’ll play at either Carolina, Atlanta or New Orleans.

Believe with a win they play at home against the Giants and with a loss vs Washington.

Considering we play both West divisions we need all the easier games we can get (at least opponents that look easier right now)

it's not offseason yet but Garza signed an extension. I am guessing that the timing of it means it is somewhat team friendly, but still, Roberto Garza is not good and needs to be replaced.

What does that say about Emerys status that he is able to extend guys right now.

Garza blows. The only justification is that garza is considered a leader for the Bears. But with how dysfunctional they've been he can't be too great of a leader.

I have to think it has something to do with this season not being over and having spare cap space to use, and also that it is a very small commitment that didn't really require confirmation that Emery will or will not return.

Looks like 1 yr extension. He got 1.5 mil this year so I'm assuming that he got the same or less next year. I think he's ranked like 20th at C from PFF.

Meh... Still doesn't stop them from getting DLP again unless the reason they extend Garza is that they don't like how DLP is recovering from his ankle injury.

Not to mention that the dead money will be 200k or less so they can cut him at any time really.

LOL, Garza sucks.

brad biggs says he played well

Mark Potash's tweet acting like this is one piece of good news from the Bears. I disagree.

This is bad news on several levels.

I'm annoyed at the extension but won't get up in arms. Realistically if we have a new GM this isn't a deal that will prevent them from upgrading the position otherwise.

@thekapman: .@ProFootballTalk says full Bears housecleaning could be coming. Excellent source tells me ownership prepared to eat Cutler's $ if necessary

Apparently full house cleaning includes Ted Phillips.

Monday can't get here fast enough.
