I'm still just kind of stunned that UConn won the title. I can't wrap my mind around it. No one was talking about this team all season....hell no one was talking about them as a contender until they beat MSU to get to the final 4. Just boggles my mind. Congrats to them.

CBS couldn't cut away from Napier fast enough there

What a tool. "How dare you ban us for blatantly failing to even pretend to try to graduate our players!"

Then again, I couldn't and still can't [expletive] stand Calhoun, so that colors my opinion a bit.

Well, the refs tried to give the game to Kentucky. I'm slightly amazed that none of the shoulder block moving screens got called all night and at the end of the game Randle was just dropping his shoulder into the defender's chest to get to the hoop. So much uncalled contact on both sides all game really and I think that had a lot to do with how sloppy the second half looked.

Giffey couldn't stay in front of randle if handle were wearing snowshoes

UK will regret not going to him more

After watching the last two games UK played idk why they don't run more designed plays for Randle. Like cuts/rolls coming around one of the elbows towards the hoop, or guys setting screenings for him around the FT line to curl off of. Once he gets that momentum going and a guy on his hip he is nearly impossible to stop

UConn is the most underrated program in college basketball. Curious to see how being in a new, crappier conference affects them.

I was going to mention how Rutgers leaving helps them, but had no idea how terrible East Carolina and Tulane were. 242 and 282 in Pomeroy. UConn, Memphis, and Cincy are going to win 14 conference games in perpetuity. But at least they got to a nice round 11 teams.

Sucks but not as devastating as '84, '03, and '97. Agreed as far as not utilizing Randle more, the game is setup to reward him plowing to the basket.

I know anywhere from 5-7 will leave, Randle is prob. the only one who should go pro.

Next year will be rough, the class isn't nearly as strong.

They all should go pro, unless Kentucky pays better than most people think

Looks similar to the way Conference USA did when L'ville and Memphis dominated. That can work for your program in terms of winning, but I guess there is less money to go around.

UConn's fans are as devoted as any I've known, so I'm happy for them.

Next year we will marvel at Cal's ability to get Trey Lyles and Karl Towns to the title game and declare it his best job ever.

i eagerly await mentions of "unsung hero: Devin Booker"

Defense outside of the Top 30 has still never won an NCAA Tournament.

There were so many factors favoring UConn in this game, outcome is what I expected.

Obviously his recruiting is his biggest strength and he was out-coached yesterday, but he did a great job of getting this team together. He did better performances with UMass than UK, when I say he has done his best job yet, I'm speaking of terms in Lexington.

This was a different style of play from Feb. till now, blame should go to Cal for how poorly they started though.

I still think the talent on this squad is vastly overrated, the only one I see being a major contributor is Randle at the next level, everyone else is likely a role player.

So is UCONN a blue blood now? They have more tourney titles than Kansas, but not the longevity. They might be now.

Absolutely. Since the tourney went to 64 teams, they are tied with Duke for most titles (4) and theirs are far more recent--first one in 99. With their presence in MSG, the B1G might have made a HUGE mistake taking Rutgers over them.

They're still there for when we expand to 16.

Connecticut is not an AAU member. UNL isn't either, but they were when the B1G added them.

I really like Young's game. He's going to take a couple years, but he's going to be more than just a role player IMO.
