And with that, I officially have zero interest in the title game.

Also, I don't like Jackson taking the shot there. I know he's been the guy in that role for Wisky before, but he'd looked like [expletive] all night.

That was a hell of a game, I hate everything about the state of WI but that was luck.

If cheating on your wife/g/f is fair punishment for not recording in HD, what is the punishment for recording the Badgers broadcast instead of the UK or the National broadcast?

I can't remember four games in a row like this.

This is best job by Calipari so far.

Only 1780 of the 11M brackets had the final matchup picked correctly.

All of them in Kentucky and Conn.

Yeah I won't even have it on in the background. Two teams that most people in the country hate. No feel good story lines...

Getting nine McDonald's All-Americans to the championship game isn't something that can be done by mortals.

Considering the situation with how far they've come in this past month, I stand by that. I'm well aware this on paper was one of the best classes of all-time and how disappointing they were up until March as well as how they bad they were in '12-'13, but for whatever reason they've changed their style and had to go thru the toughest bracket to get to the title game.

People want to complain about how shady he is, he is more honest about what elite college athletics is about than Coach K, Self, et. ever will be. Coach K wants to give verbal BJs about how great Duke is academically (which it is) and how great the college experience is while recruiting players like Irving, Parker, Rivers, etc., just be honest and tell what Duke basketball stands for (NBA basketball factory where elite players are there b/c they have to get thru one year of college) and not pure BS.

I agree, Cal is the most honest of the group. He is what he is and honestly, I doubt he is at all cheating now. He's the cool place to be. When they win tonight, assuming they win, it is only going to get worse.

The Naismith Basketball HOF class will be introduced tonight, and among the inductees will be Nolan Richardson. He changed the way the game is played.

Only coach ever to win an NIT, NCAAJC and NCAA title and he coached in 3 Final Fours. I'll never forget before the title game against Duke, Dean Smith was on CBS saying Duke would win because they were "the smarter team". Nolan was an big, angry black man and race was a huge reason why he wasn't viewed in the same league with other elite coaches.

For the record:

Nolan 2 Dean Smith 1

Nolan 2 Coach K 1

Nolan 3 Lute Olson 1

Nolan 1 Jim Boehiem 0

Snippet from an article today:

“But tell me if I’m lying: When people watch Pitino’s teams play, they use a lot of different words. They talk about how well-coached they are. They talk about how well-conditioned they are. They talk about how aggressive they are, how they care about defense, and of course how disciplined they are …”

The smile was a laugh now, deep, throaty, guttural.

“And with my teams, they only use one word.”

That word, shortened for use in a family newspaper, was this: “N-ball.”

What a pointless stat.

What a pointless stat.

On its own merits, maybe. As part of a resume to enter the HOF, hardly pointless.

Putting an NIT win on a resume post-1970s is pointless

You're nitpicking, but fine. At the minimum it's an interesting footnote to a HOF career. Do you think he's not worthy of that or are you just being contrary?

He's probably worthy, but I wouldn't say he's a slam dunk. His career was pretty short, and Sutton left him a really good program at Arkansas.

Arkansas was not left in the best of shape when Eddie left, and Nolan coached there for 17 years, hardly very short. As for borderline HOF, Nolan's was in 3 Final 4s, and in the title game twice winning one title. That's very comparable to John Thompson, Lute Olsen, Jim Boeheim or Jerry Tarkanian. It's absolutely better than Ray Meyer or Al McGuirre.

Too many missed free throws from Kentucky.
