What was the stat Len had last night? Junior Lake is the first Cubs player to reach base (or was it get a hit?) in his first 5 games as a Cub since Steve Lake in 1983.

I believe it was that he was the first Cub to get 4 hits in one of his first 5 games with the team since Steve Lake. Something to that effect.

On a slightly more serious note, for those following the minors when Castro and Lake were at AZ it is fun looking back on the arguments about ceiling vs certainty for those two.

Especially enjoyable seeing them bat back-to-back at the top of the order now.

This is correct...heard it from Len on the broadcast.

We're way too jaded. WTF? Might as well enjoy it. Needless to say it'd be awesome if he's turning a corner. Can't say its impossible.

Must be the Lake effect.

@keithlaw: @jontehBest Lake? Seen him a ton. Has tools and very little idea of how to use them. Not a very good player at all.

Keith Law really hates Junior. I know it's just Law being Law, but I still think it's his way of blowing off steam at 2-3 years worth of Cubs fans bombarding him with questions about Lake and then lashing back at him when he's suggest that he was anything short of a mega-prospect. Nobody expects him to keep up anything remotely resembling his pace, but not a very good player is quite a stretch.

Yeah it's just Law being Law, he probably declared Lake a toolsy player years ago but with no chance of putting them together so he's sticking to it. He's incredibly stubborn on reversing his stances on prospects once he makes a declaration on them.

When Junior Lake was called up, I question whether or not he was big league ready; I now question whether or not the big leagues are Junior Lake ready.

It's fun watching him right now, but he could very easily end up stinking.

Remember that time Steve Clevenger put up a 1.250 OPS in his first six games in 2012?

Shut up. I'm so very rarely right when it comes to prospects. Let me enjoy this.

Yes, you held the line even more than I did with Lake.

Remember when Amaury Telemaco carried a no hitter deep into his first start?
