My initial thought when I saw his name earlier was that I saw his introductory press conference for the Tampa job and thought immediately he'd be a bust as a head coach. He's goofy. But he does have a solid history in the Tampa system, working under Kiffin, and should theoretically be able to maintain the status quo of the group. Without Kiffin, his defenses were pretty pathetic though.

i also get the feeling that tucker is a high eneregy rah rah guy, like marinelli. he's got a lot of respect around the league, these guys will respect him immediately. couldn't have been a better pick to keep things going the same way. although raheem morris would have been very interesting, too.

I was worried about Emery's ability to identify and bring in coaches because of Tice. I'm starting to believe that was mostly Lovie. I'm giving any offensive hires to Trestman, but I'm guessing Emery was the main driver behind Tucker and DeCamillis.

What's the CFL coach count up to? 3 or 4?

 

Sinclair was a pretty good NFL defensive end though. It is possible he knows what he is doing. I'd look at him a bit differently than that Bischoff guy.

Was it well known Tice was mainly Lovie's callI don't really recall that.

 

Just going off memory, it felt like Emery pursued guys who weren't interested and then settled on Tice because the only other option was Bates and the organization was put off cuz he spurned us for Carroll 3 years ago. An article refreshing my memory would do.
