Pretty sure they haven't done the white on white since opening night in 09 when Cutler threw 4 picks in his debut and Urlacher was lost for the year.

I keep wanting them to bring it back, and thought they would last year with lach back (it was his thing), but they haven't.

The Blue on Blue reminds me too much of the Grossman years so I want it banished

The white on whites are good

Also, for whatever reason both of the monocolor schemes make fat people look extra fat

A - The Grossman years were awesome. Especially considering that they just happened to coincide with the best season most of us have seen.

B - Did they even wear the blue on blue any other time than the NYE debacle in 06 during the Grossman era?

They wore them either for the game against the Packers in Champaign, or the first time they played the Packers at the new Soldier Field.

The retro is my personal favorite. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to getting one of those yet.

What is this yahoo babbling about?

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/11/10/jason-babin-says-bears-took-him-out-with-a-cheap-shot/

I actually remember this play. Tight end came in motion from being split out to be set on the line. When the tight end almost got there, the ball was snapped. So, instead of stopping and setting, the tight end (can't remember if it was Davis or Spaeth) had a running start and crushed Babin.

Whether it should be legal or not... I think it's debatable. The defensively lineman doesn't have enough time to react and is basically defenseless. However, to try to call out Lovie and Martz as if they were targetting him specifically is both delusional and conceited.

Personally, I quite enjoyed it, especially if it puts a slight doubt in the defensive end's mind and is legal. Not sure I'd be happy if someone made a hit on Peppers like that though.

yea.... Neither of those were in the Grossman era, though. Unless you count the first game at Soldier as the Grossman-era, because he happened to be on the team as a rookie.

Oddly enough, I confuse those two games myself and am never sure which one of those two it was.

How much safety help do you anticipate on Johnson during this game? About 90% of the plays?

Don't need nearly as much focus on the running game, although QB pressure will definitely be necessary. We just don't match up well with their passing game, IMO. Someone will need to be glued to Pettigrew the entire game along with double coverage on CJ.

Hopefully Peppers will be able to go on Sunday.

Every 1st round OL Angelo has drafted has missed significant time his rookie year with a major injury.

Yeah, no Jahvid Best will help. Should be able to stop the run with 7 in the box. I do think you see a lot of safety help of Calvin Johnson. Bears had a lot of help on him first matchup, and he still beat them. I think with Conte, they'll be more likely to keep him deep due to his speed (much faster than Harris was). As for Pettigrew, just can't let him get a clean release. They sucked Urlacher in last game on the playaction. Hit him at the line and Urlacher has a chance to get back into coverage.

We're a Louis or Webb injury away from Omiyale full time.

I almost think they'd move Chris Williams back to OT before they put Omiyale back in there. If it's an injury that keeps 1 of the OTs out more than 1 week, then I think they promote Levi Horn from the practice squad or sign someone to compete with Omiyale. How much worse can a P-squadder or a person off the street be?

If that pattern holds, Carimi will have constant knee problems over the next few years, we'll stick with him through all of the injuries and rehab, then cut him and watch him become a consistent starter with other teams for the next 6-8 years.

If by that pattern you mean one of the two guys before him.

I could see that. But I think I'd expect them never to move Williams again even more. His play at LG has improved greatly and I feel like they don't want to break him out of that comfort zone. I don't know much about Horn, but I'd hate to see Omiyale ever start for the Bears again. Or well, even play at all.

With the improved state of the OL, I just can't help but think what this team would do with a #1 WR on it.

I don't even care about a #1 WR, anymore. I just want a guy that can win in the 3-step game. When the OL is going bad, they can't do 5-step drops. So, 3-step drops are necessary. The problem is no WR (other than Bennett) can get open that fast. Roy Williams is a FA after the year. Can easily replace him with a draft pick and get an upgrade, IMO. Mohamed Sanu is a guy I'd really like to see in a Bears uniform. Not a burner, but the Bears have enough speed outside. Good size, with good hands, good strength and can get open quick and run with the ball after the catch.
