It actually kinda sucks if Hester can't go. I thought he was turning the corner as a WR until Monday night when he didn't do crap. But still, I'd rather have him on field over Sam Hurd and Dane Sanzendropper.

They've finally discovered how the Bears respond to being picked to lose week in and week out, so this week they all picked the Bears over the Lions, removing the chip on their shoulder and causing a likely loss on Sunday.

I watched a brief Lovie interview this morning, and it sounded like Hester's not going to go.

It defintely hurts us in the punt returns. Knox is almost as good on kickoffs, though.

Eh, Johnny Knox is not Hester, but he did make the Pro Bowl as a returner 2 seasons ago. Toub's special teams is more than just Hester (although Hester obviously makes it that much better)

Bennett is actually a pretty good punt returner. Doesn't have Hester's ability to make people miss in the open field, but he also doesn't screw around and gets right up the field.

Only if Bennett is allowed to return punts in a bubble suit.

I'm not thrilled with Hester being out, but Knox gets up the field pretty good. Give him a seam and he'll put in a good return. Our offense can score a little this year. It's not like we need TDs on returns or else there's no chance of a TD.

Since Hester is probably the 4th best WR on this team, him not playing and therefore starting at WR is probably a good thing.

Bennett is his "backup" technically too at WR, so that could mean more targets to Bennett now that he'll be on the field in more than just the 3-wide personnel. The problem is Hurd is the guy that is in that position when Earl goes to the slot. Hurd is not very good. They could keep Earl in Hester's spot with Sanzenbacher in the slot. But he's not very good either. This team is still better on offense with Hester in it. Rather it's a decoy or not, inferior players are on the field if he's not.
