I should blame the Bears? what?

timing of the information release aside, not an issue.

I was thinking you were a Minny person. It's their own damn fault for playing in a decrepit stadium that is prone to roof collapses. You can't blame the NFL for putting the game in Ford Field. It's like Houston people whining about the Miller Park games. If their owner did a better job in advance of that hurricane, it could have been resolved differently.

The timing of the issue can't really be pushed aside. Coaches are already making game plans for next week.

I didn't think I blamed anyone for it, I simply said it sucked.

and, how, other then clothing or shoes, does the change of fields change coaching? Its our Offense vs their Defense, and vice versa. Its not like we are Miami and we never play in cold weather.

Seriously?

How can you honestly ask that question. Field conditions matter. Domes and 15 degree nights matter.

I don't see why it sucks. The roller dome sucks, but having another midwestern dome to play in a day later is a blessing more than something that sucks.

but given the division and the mix of different types of stadiums (domes vs open air), mix of weather conditions, I would think they would have a decent idea of what they want to do regardless. so, you prepare for both conditions until the condition is known, then you focus on that mindset.

it really shouldn't matter unless your coaching staff is woefully inadequate. but, I guess, there is that.

This is a ridiculous statement. You prepare for specific games. You don't have dome game plans and outdoor game plans and mix and match accordingly. You play the Vikings differently in Soldier Field than in Minnesota, and you play differently at Detroit than at Minnesota. If you do not know whether a game vs a dome team is going to take place in a dome or in 13 degree open air at night you are in trouble.

also, it sucks because the Giants are now more likely to beat the Vikings then if they were able to play at TCF. They will be playing on a neutral field now, without the crowd that they would get in Minneapolis.

this isnt about the wonderful availability of amenities 600 miles away

Well yeah, it sucks for Bears fans that the Giants are getting a break here. Although they've had some crazy travel situations this weekend as well.

whatever man. I really think you are making a huge issue out of a minor one, really.

Where an NFL game is going to be played matters.

sure, but its not as if the teams will know at 10 minutes before kickoff. I really think its a bigger issue to go from the RollerDome to Ford Field then it is to go fro the RollerDome to TCF, and I cant believe an NFL team is going to withhold that information from an opposing NFL for longer then a day.

Also, if the GIants lose to Minnesota tonight, the chances of a 10-6 team missing the playoffs becomes almost zero.

I think the Bucs are all but a lock to finish at 10-6 and they would miss the playoffs if the Packers finish 10-6.

They would only miss the playoffs if the Giants-Packers and Bucs finish at 10-6.

Bucs-Packers-Giants finish 10-6 = Packers IN

Bucs-Eagles-Packers finish 10-6 = Bucs IN

Bucs - Packers finish at 10-6 = Bucs IN

i dunno who i'd rather play in this game, tarvaris or brett, but tarvaris certainly looked godawful today and the team as a whole looked like they quit, aside from the defense in spots. (which could be a problem)

theres so much talent on that vikings team its amazing to think how much they've collapsed. they've got former all stars and blooming stars at so many levels, it just boggles the mind.

pretty much our playoffs right here, gotta win this game. win it and the packers have practically no shot to get in. this is our superbowl. just do it.

I don't think you're gonna have a choice. I don't think Brett is playing again...almost def not this week.

Dome to dome or dome to outdoor night game in 13 degree temps. Seriously?

In other words, we're fucked.

Philadelphia needs to win in a major way on Sunday because I don't see Minnesota beating the Bears, no matter where the game is.

No reason at all to play him. The Vikings have been eliminated and his streak has ended. I think he has played his last game.

Tampa will not win 2 more games. Book it.

Would still be difficult for Bears to sneak in on wild card if they lose Minnesota game.

Yeah, you guys would basically be in the position we're in right now with regards to the wild card chase.

I really don't see how the Bears are going to lose to Minnesota. That team looked beyond awful yesterday.

If they don't have faith in Jackson going forward there are a few reasons to play Favre. One is that if Favre wants to play they probably want to go with the go they think gives them the best chance to win a game. I have trouble imagining Favre wanting to leave the game this way. The Vikings should love the opportunity to ruin the Bears hopes for the division.

Plus Leslie is coaching for his job. Brett supposedly is a big fan of Frazier and wants him to get the job. If he's able to go, it's in everyone's best interest if he plays.

Tarvaris will not be here next year. Last night put a bow on that.

And the Bears looked beyond awful on Sunday. In fact I don't remember a week where the Bears, Packers, and Vikings all looked like such utter garbage (13 combined points between the 3 teams lol). I'd also like to know how many times in the past 10 years the Lions have been the only team from the NFC North to win in a particular week. I bet it's very low.

Posted
Oh and even though the Lions won that means the entire NFC North scored a total of 20 points this weekend. That has to be a record for lowest weekly point total by a division.

Isn't there a rumor going around that Favre asked the team to IR him so he wouldn't have to do press conferences? I don't think Favre cares about how he "goes out". If so, he would have quit last year.

Haven't heard that rumor. There's been joking talk of a phantom suspension from Goodell regarding the dong photos.
