It's becoming increasingly likely that we are gonna be playing in terrible conditions tomorrow. I'm hearing with the winds and heavy snowfall we might be seeing a whiteout effect during the game. The snow is quite possibly gonna neutralize any kind of gameplan for either side and even up the talent I would think. The winner will be whoever handles the elements better.

Interestingly, this will be the Patriots first game in Chicago since 2000. New England is one of two teams to have never played in the new Soldier Field. The other is the Jets. The Jets actually haven't played in Chicago since 1997. The obvious reason why it's been so long, is they both played road games against the Bears in 2002, while the Bears played in Champaign.

This is only the 11th time that the Bears and Patriots have ever played a regular season game (12 overall). The Pats are 7-3 against the Bears going into the game tomorrow. (0-1 in the postseason :))

Even if it isn't snowing, the wind up here right now is swirling and strong. If it's like this in Chicago, any long passes, FGs, kickoffs, etc will be......adventurous.

I love this though. Football in horrible conditions is what we do :)

I'm looking forward to it. I'll have to watch it without sound today though, since we are playing at the same time as the Chargers. I've been spoiled with sound most of the season, so I'm not that disappointed. Probably end up with Aikman again, anyway, and I'd probably prefer no sound than to listen to him anyway.

I find football to be very watchable without sound. About the only thing I miss is the roar of the crowd. Certainly the announcers are optional.

Yeah, it's not that bad. I still get a 40 inch screen to watch the Bears and smaller tv's showing every other game without having to turn my head. The morning game bloody mary's should have me in a perfect place come game time.

Don't think I could find a better place to watch games unless I was actually in Chicago. Fans of just about every team, free food, good friends and cold beer. We have a contingency of about 10-12 Bears fans that show up for the games that arent' televised locally. That's 3rd in size to San Diego and Pittsburgh fans, and 3rd on the depth chart for sound, assuming all 3 teams are playing at the same time, which is very rarely the case.

I mentioned this in the other games thread too, but the problems in Minnesota will have some impact on the Bears-Vikings game next week. Even if the damage is minor enough that it can be fixed in time to play in Minnesota tomorrow night, at a minimum the Bears will now have one more day of rest than the Vikings between games.

I'll say it right now: I hope Favre keeps playing and the injuries keep piling up. Because at this point I feel like TJ is the more effective option.

I hope they choose to play that game outdoors at Univ. Of Minnesota. But I think they'll likely fly both teams to Detroit.

Not a chance you get Aikman. This is a CBS game.

Very little snow has actually fallen, but it's blowing around enough so that the cars without covered parking at my building are clean while those that are under the overhang are covered in snow.

It's still just right around freezing, but the storm is supposed to pick up shortly before kickoff without the wind dying down (sustained winds around 30 mph). It won't get as cold as was forecasted a few days ago, but snow whipping that hard into your face with a 10 degree wind chill isn't going to feel pleasant out there.

How feasible is it for the Giants to get long sleeves, outdoor cleats, and other things required for cold weather outdoor games by tomorrow night?

Apparently next Monday's Bears/Vikings game also is likely to be moved. Unless the game is played at the University of Minnesota stadium, I'm willing to bet the Bears fans would outnumber the Vikings fans by a large margin wherever they play.

hahah, luckiest season ever if we don't play in the metrodome for the minnesota game

well, nothing will top the 2001 season, though that was the luckiest season ever just from the stuff that happened during the game, not all the surrounding hubbub

Unless the Eagles fall back to earth and the Giants take the division. In that case I don't really care if the Giants are winning games. Hey, I can hope.

It's going to be Jim Nantz and Phil Simms.

Didn't the Giants manage to do all that during half time of a game against the Bears back in the 30's ??

The Bears will win under horrible conditions and the national media still won't believe them because "Bear weather" won it for Chicago.

In a game against the Pats? No.

And I'm really hoping for a blizzardtastrophe at the game
