If we're lucky maybe we'll get Omar Infante.

Actually, that sounds like a Hendry type of move. [expletive]

But he was an All Star...

What can the Cubs reasonably get for a few months of Lee? Hopefully enough to make up for the picks.

Picks? The Cubs weren't getting any picks for Lee.

I don't see why not. He's going to be given some type of comp. status. The Cubs aren't going to contend next season. If they offer Lee arbitration and he accepts they just get a stopgap 1B for a year.

They aren't going to bring back Lee, even for one year, if it means they're paying him 10+ million.

My guess is that Lee hits about .500, hits 3 homeruns and drives in 6 or 7 runs in the upcoming series against the Cubs.

I am really very happy for Lee and the Braves. I think Lee will find a new groove, like Stella, and the Braves will catch a spark and start actually winning the games Tommy Hanson pitches.

We've had Omar Infante. He just never played a game for us.

There's no chance the Cubs were going to risk offering Lee arbitration. He's owed around 3 mill or so for the rest of the year, so if the Braves are paying that, I'll be surprised if we even get one guy that definitely fits into our top 30 prsopects.

This.

This is a salary dump, where the money hopefully goes back into the system. That's about it.

By the way, what's the chances Lee can't pass a physical at the moment?

It's no mystery that Lee's been battling a back injury, if the Braves are expecting a clean bill of health then they're a bunch of idiots

I read that Lee is only expected to be a Type B FA anyways.

That figures he would be a "B". The Braves now could be looking at a late first round sandwich compensation pick if Lee leaves ATL as a free agent and he is indeed a "B", without having to offer him arbitration.

They still have to offer him arbitration to get the pick, which won't happen. No team is baseball would be willing to give Lee over 10 mill on a one year deal next season.

Kaplan's last 2 tweets have been pouting that other people broke it first. Love it.

Not surprising. Have you ever listened to this man speak? He's a child.

At least he had the good sense to barely show his own ugly mug.

Not sure it's a salary dump. The Cubs are going to eat some money in all likelihood.

Rationale being, Lee cleared waivers, meaning no team (Braves included) wanted him for free at 100% of his salary.

Rosenthal says it's three pitching prospects as the return.

The pitching prospect part is totally predictable.

The three part is surprising.

This is as of yet unconfirmed, but sources say the three pitchers to be received from the Braves are Micah Bowie, Ruben Quevedo, and Joey Nation.

Muskat says Tyrelle Harris, Jeffrey Lorrick and Robinson Lopez...anyone know anything about them? Oh...and we send some cash too.
