Colvin is supposed to start in this game for one of the 3 OF's. Not sure who though. My guess is that it will be Soriano as he has had horrible BABIP luck against Suppan in 45 AB's which has resulted in a .614 OPS against him (.194 BABIP, 3 BB, 2 HR) Byrd and Fukudome have both been better. Plus Soriano is the next one to miss a start in the rotation.

That is one of my favorite images of all time, not just for the fact that it indicates the Cubs are doing well (at the moment), but also for the fact that Lou looks like he's about to drive off a cliff.

How the hell are we only 2 games out of first?

Well, we're only a game out of the Wild Card spot and facing Suppan. When do they start printing playoff tickets?

is it just me or are the Brewers starters really bad?

Outside of Gallardo their rotation leaves a lot to be desired thats for sure.

Outside of Prince, Braun and Gallardo no one on the Brewers impresses me (unless I'm missing someone, maybe McGehee, I don't know).

They aren't that good of a team.

Fukudome is our bes defender and has been one of our most consistant hitters so far. Until he stops hitting, theres no reason to sit him vs. a righty.

Weeks is like Corey Patterson redux: He's been highly unimpressive his entire career, save about half a season that ended early when he got hurt. I have to believe this season is his last chance in Milwaukee.

You're right in that he's been very streaky, but I don't think it's his last chance in Milwaukee. For one, your talking about a small market team like Milwaukee that isn't gonna give up on someone like Weeks that quickly. Also, his last 300 ABs suggest that he's starting to put it together consistently.

I do tend to think highly of Weeks because I always pick him on my fantasy leagues hoping he breaks out. But pretty much everyone involved with Weeks thinks he is capible of putting up a .275/.360/.500 season with 25-30 SBs as well.

Why in the [expletive] is Colvin batting 5th?

And that's a really early lineup.

God forbid we have to move Soto out of the 8th spot. Colvin/Fontenot should be batting 8/6 with Byrd/Soto batting 5/7.

Muskat posts them really early, I've noticed.

Who knows. Maybe Lou plans for Colvin to play for Byrd tomorrow and plans to have him bat 5th both days?

I would like to see Colvin get some more Abs though.

He's appeared in nearly every game and is on pace for something like 250 PA already. He's hitting .100/.308/.400 so far. I'm really not sure what the need is for him to get anymore time.

Missing my second [expletive] day in a row due to class. Oh well, at least I can watch it on TV. GO CUBS (and i'm not sure about colvin yet, but I'm REALLY impressed with how patient he's been considering he never was in the minors. Lots of props to jaramillo there.
