If you've never been to Mardi Gras, go. Though it's only fair to warn you that everything you do the rest of the year will be a let down in comparison.

Couldn't get close enough to Peyton to fight him. Eli is a pretty big guy, so not him. Attacking Archie would be like fighting Ernie Banks (x 2 for me since he was a Rebel and a Saint). Cooper has spinal stenosis, so I could probably beat him up if you'd like.

I'd settle for Harrison but I doubt he shows up as he as shown his true selfish colors and seems no longer involved in the franchise whatsoever.

I thought losing Harrison was going to irrevocably damage the Colts to the point they weren't going to be good this year?

Because it was foreseeable that two no name WR's would turn out to be pretty damn good? Without them it would have been a big loss as the passing game would be much easier to defend.

It's the colts, of course Peyton would make the recievers look good.

Polian is also excellent at finding players who fit the system.

It also wasn't foreseeable that a third-year, first-round draft pick at wide receiver would be lost for the season on the first play of the game with no contact. So the reliance on the two players you mention wasn't as necessary when you made your original statement; therefore your framing of this issue is sophistic. Next, you didn't argue losing Harrison would simply negatively impact the passing game, you argued that losing Harrison would render the team subpar overall. A great disparity exists between the two.

Super Bowl Cities Summarized Though Individual YouTube Clips

New Orleans: It has “soul”, which is what white people call character, if character is infused with voodoo, jazz and dark skin. The Big Easy is rife with flaws, some merely depressing but most at least interesting. The city also has a compelling redemption story, which is linked inextricably to art forms, cuisine and other cultural rituals that either originated in or have come to define it. The locals also bond tightly over the Saints, a team whose rise would parallel their own, if only New Orleans got good as quickly as the Saints have.

Indianapolis: It has a good football team, which is celebrated by the local populace by appropriating another region’s signature icons and culture because Indianapolis lacks one of its own. Wave those Terrific Towels, everybody! You’re the 12th Man! A chain restaurant of your choice wants to host your Super Bowl party! They got sliders!

There may very well be less desirable places to live than Indianapolis, but you’d be hard pressed to find one that’s more bland or nondescript. For God’s sake, their governor is wagering that infernal shrimp cocktail AGAIN!

Jordin Sparks was on some local radio station this morning. Instead of singing Pants on the Ground, the hosts had her sing Saints on the Ground. Clever, eh?

Please tell me Indiana is the only place where the Pants on the Ground thing is still mentioned.

What is "Pants on the ground"? I don't get it.

When have the Colts not had good receivers while Manning has been there? It seems like there might be more to it than luck.

To add to this. if you have a girlfriend or wife, don't let her go.

Polian is upset and I can't blame him because the league is requiring all of there pro bowl players to be at the game.

if what i heard is correct, the teams are making players leave at halftime and fly home to n.o./indy, so they can fly back to miami with their teams. if true, then the teams are just as stupid as the nfl.

Makes one wonder if they really thought about this before they moved the game.

I'm surprised Reggie wasn't the one to go down in that collision.

heh, well I don't know about that, but Reggie is definitely stronger than people think. He survived remarkably well against what I think is the most vicious hit I've ever seen in an NFL game:

Other New Orleans suggestions:

-If going for Mardi Gras take a cruddy pair of shoes and leave them there. They will be detroyed from a mixture of spilled beer, pee, puke and God knows whatelse.

-Jazz Fest is a better event to go the first time to the city. (Mardi Gras just messes too much up. Restaurants close or are on limited menus. Other businesses also are limited or closed.) The city is still exciting and the crowds bigger than normal but its not the raging stupidity that exists during Mardi Gras.

-I know people that all they do is hit the French Quarter and they're missing tons of great areas. The Faubourg Merigny, Garden District, Magazine Street and many other neighborhoods are great to see.

-Saturn Bar: check it out.

-a lot of bars are still cash-only. Don't go there assuming plastic is king.

New Orleans is well on the way back but theres still a long way to go. I've been there 6 times: 3 pre-Katrina, the first Jazz Fest after Katrina, Mardi Gras 2008 and this last fall.

I had a problem with the move from the beginning. It revolved around the fact that the players who are voted to the Pro Bowl but make the Super bowl are punished for getting to the championship game by not having a choice to play in the game or not. This new stuff is on a whole new level and is just absurd. They need to be preparing for the Superbowl not going to Miami for a game they can't play in. I'm not following why guys can opt to not play in the game except those who are on a team in the Super bowl.
