    Monday morning at work (here in St. Louis) is going to suck. I'm going to go in early to make sure the Cubs flag in my office isn't messed with. At bare minimum some coworker Cardinal jackwagon fan will leave a newspaper posted on my door.

    It's called denial. Let me know how they feel a few weeks into next year. yup. they're still in that honeymoon phase of winning the world series is dramatic fashion. once a few games are played next season and they realize what they just lost, they'll feel it. No LaRussa and no Pujols is going to sting like a b*tch next year for Cardinal fans. Then again a brand new World Series flag eases the pain.

    This bums me out because I was hoping the Cardinals would have overpayed and been tied up with Pujols' overvalued contract for the next decade. Everyone here in the office are fine with him going to Anaheim at $25mil/year. They're mostly ticked because Pujols claimed "it wasn't about the money".

    Should the Cubs un-retire Ryno's number and take the flag down if he gets the Cardinal job? ;) For beating the Cards during his playing career and destroying the franchise with a managerial career? I'd build him a statue. I'm talking about the moment the press conference begins and he puts on the jersey.

    By whom? It's been pretty much the scuttlebutt all season long that this would be his last in Saint Louis. According to the article, he gave them the word in August. This was totally expected. Well it was news to me, but admittedly I wasn't paying much attention to what might happen to Tony LaRussa after the season. Most people down here thought 2012 would be his last year in an effort to get to #2 on the alltime wins list.

    He came back for the playoffs but missed the last month of the season. And got right back out of town after the victory. He wasn't at the parade/ceremony yesterday.

    People are seriously bummed out down here. The Cardinals honks in the office have been moaning for the last hour. Someone even has KMOX on the radio in their cube. I assume you're ignoring which team in our division won the World Series this year?

    Isn't it bad baseball etiquette to do anything during the World Series that might take away from the event? Shouldn't this have waited until next week? I know it's a travel day and we all hate the Cardinals: but still, this should have waited.

    Umm, are you referring to the David Eckstein who was the MVP for the 2006 World Champion Cardinals?

    The amount of buttache down here is amazing. People are already jumping off the bandwagon and looking forward to watch a football team that went 1-15 last year along with a hockey team that didn't make the playoffs.
