Except counting his money. This is a fact and even then he's probably angry. At one point when he was at LSU my wife was responsible for making sure his Nike (and other $ outside of his paycheck) contract money got deposited into his accounts every month (something like 300K/month IIRC) and his people were always calling to harass her to make sure it was done in spite of the fact it was never not done when it was supposed to be.

I'm not going to gloat, I'm not going to trash talk, I am just loving the moment so much that all the little snide comments (OMC and Truff, both of which are clearly talking out of their arses) that have been made towards Saban, I won't even respond. Suffice to say, Bama proved they ARE the best team in college football of 2009.

lol, the Alabama detractors are just as funny as RF. My God, I wouldn't care if my team was playing Florida A&M in the championship game. A title is a title, no ifs ands or buts about it. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is who actually wins the gold and not who you beat to win the championship. Anyone calling this a sham title for Alabama isn't in their right frame of mind.

I have this question. The Cubs and Cardinals are playing in the 2010 NLCS, and say Pujols gets hurt in game 1 and is out for the rest of the series. Cubs win in seven games. Would you guys be calling it a "sham pennant?"

I know it is, but how about getting tougher schedules? Next year is a start with Virginia Tech, but that's not enough.

 

It takes two sides to agree to a game. Boise can't just call up Florida or Alabama and say "Hey guys, we're coming to play you next year on Sept 4".

 

There was a story earlier in the year (can be read here) about how Boise was calling a bunch of schools that had an open game the same weekend Boise did asking to play one game at the other team's place (no return trip necessary) and they were getting turned down left and right.

Given the culture in NCAA Football, I understand why they have such trouble finding teams to play them. What does it benefit teams to host Boise State? You beat them, and it's just a WAC pretender. You lose, and you're totally out of the BCS Championship picture. It's almost a no-win situation.

 

I'm not saying it should be that way, just that it is that way.

If anybody knew what we went through between Franchione skulking into the night to Texas A&M to the Mike Price "strip" tease, to Mike Dubose's President Clinton's impersonation to Mike Shula being a last minute hired after Price/not ready for prime time coaching, then you would know why I take very much pride in my Alabama Crimson Tide team. We've been embarrassed enough times that yes............this title feels good. McCoy or no McCoy. So you detractors (and Flames I am excluding you here) can get mad, can get pissy, or ya'll can channel you're inner Christian Bale for all I care, Bama is back and I am happy.

 

Besides, since I am a Cub fan why won't you let me enjoy the one time that a favorite team of mine is on top of their sports world? I wouldn't crap another anybody else parade if their team won, so why crap on mine?

I can't stand Wisky, but they should be higher than #16. There's at least 3 teams ahead of them that shouldn't be.

Why doesnt Alabama play Boise St?

 

I actually understand why Alabama doesnt(dont agree with it), but why doesnt a mid level BCS conference team play Boise St? Someone like South Carolina or Michigan St.

2004 auburn should've quit the sec and joined a real conference like the big xii or pac 10 if they wanted to play for a championship.

There's really no reason Boise State shouldn't have a shot at the title. They might be the best team in the nation.

Incorrect. Alabama won the BCS National Championship. The NCAA has nothing to do with the "championship" process is college football. The BCS (and the entire bowl system) operates outside of the NCAA, thus there has not been an actual NCAA football championship in a long time (if ever)

The only thing I know is that game was a huge letdown early. Yes, Texas made a valiant run at it. But knowing they wouldn't have their best player just took all the excitement out of it for me. I only watched sparsely.
