I'm not going to gloat, I'm not going to trash talk, I am just loving the moment so much that all the little snide comments (OMC and Truff, both of which are clearly talking out of their arses) that have been made towards Saban, I won't even respond. Suffice to say, Bama proved they ARE the best team in college football of 2009.

Number 13 coming home to Tuscaloosa. Way to go, Roll Damn Tide... :D

shouldn't you be riding around in a pickup truck shooting your shotgun up in the air with the rest of the bama fans?

I have this question. The Cubs and Cardinals are playing in the 2010 NLCS, and say Pujols gets hurt in game 1 and is out for the rest of the series. Cubs win in seven games. Would you guys be calling it a "sham pennant?"

Quarterbacks, especially ones with the gulf of talent/experience like McCoy/Gilbert, are much more valuable and important than any individual baseball player. Baseball is a series of individual actions, football is a coordinated team sport reliant on pinpoint timing and communication between players.

Congrats to Bama on beating Texas without McCoy on a fumbled shovel pass. Counting the coin toss, that should be roughly their 36th title.

Congrats, but Nick Saban in an ass. This is immutable fact. He's a great coach, but a total ass. If he were the coach of Florida or something, you'd be talking about what an ass he is as well.

All the great (or at least a majority of them) coaches are asses. Pete Carroll, yes. Urban Meyer, yes. Woody Hayes, yes. Bob Stoops, yes. Roy Williams, yes. Bill Self, yes. And the list goes on. You're right, if Saban was at Florida and doing this I would be calling him an ass (just like he was at LSU), the fact is he's at Alabama, and I can accept him being an ass.

this comment is so stupid and so wrong its mind boggling.

We don't need you to respond to that. Everyone knows that trying to score with 1:30 left in the game when you are up by 10 is classless.

:-({|=

You haters simply want to nitpick on Saban so much it has blinded your objectivity. Correct me if I am wrong, but does Texas have a defense? Was it Bama's fault they couldn't stop Trent Richardson. Was the play C ypocall not a simply draw play?

OMC you are better then this. If you want to spew your hate, fine, but direct it towards Longhorns defense who refused to tackle Richardson. It's not Bama job to stop scoring, that job belong to Texas' defense.

Congrats RedFlash.

Thx man. Trust me, when Bama was going through the "Mike's" period of Shula/Price/Dubose, I never thought Bama would ever see this moment again.

There's really no reason Boise State shouldn't have a shot at the title. They might be the best team in the nation.

There's a reason there is no NCAA Championship in football.....

W/e, Most great coaches are asses and if you can't see that then maybe you don't want to believe that. And that is on you.

I'm not commenting on BAMA winning the game you nitwit! I'M GLAD THEY WON!! Did you not see me say "ROLL TIDE!" earlier??!?!

My hate?? A) I don't hate Nick Saban. I think he's an amazing football coach. B) I'm not spewing anything. Notice any exclamation marks when I called Saban an ass for running the score up?

My problem is with him clearly running the score up. That's it. End of story.

That crystal football says otherwise.

BTB, tell Boise State to get in a tougher conference. It's as simple as that.

I knew you had a shot when you hired Saban. Didn't think it'd come this quickly, though.

I hear ya. I was think 2010 at the earliest, so I am not complaining at all.

That's a hell of a lot easier said then done.

I know it is, but how about getting tougher schedules? Next year is a start with Virginia Tech, but that's not enough.

They also probably had two at least equal, if not better, wins than Bama did (Oregon and TCU). Fresno was also a very nice win. Bowling Green and Idaho weren't pushovers this year. And they try to play more good out of conference teams, but the BCS setup gives no reason for teams to play Boise.

And to be honest, even though Bama very much earned the win over Texas, the crystal ball doesn't mean much. All it means is that Bama won the game that was set up by sports writers and computers. The two best teams in the nation were not playing in the title game.

I know they've had a problem scheduling people. It probably will get easier for them to schedule teams as they continue to go to and win BCS games as beating them would be a marquee win and a loss to them wouldn't probably be hurtful anymore.

Yep, something boring might happen like the best teams in the nation playing each other. We only want marquee names playing for the title.

Congrats RF, but stop calling it #13. It's #8. Else we should all get together and dig up every single poll ever voted in college football to decide how many titles our teams have, because I know for one that Penn State would have a few more, ND would have over 20, Oklahoma, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, etc.
