And keep in mind... I HATE Alabama. There is no other team on earth that I hate as much as the Repeat Serial Violators. If college football were an olympic sport, and Bama represented the US, I would cheer for every other country in the world. True Story.

Fact: Bama may be a repeat offender (and let's face facts, most BIG powerhouse schools pull the same crap as Bama, difference is the NZAA's is always looking to punish Bama at any chance, while letting schools like tOSU and USC skirt the damn rules and not face their punishment), but did you know the Auburn University has spent more time on probation in college sports then any other school? Since 1957, Auburn has been on probation a mere 33% of the time. Auburn has been put on probation in football (in fact their lone NCAA Football title, came while on probation), golf and a few other sports. Not to mention they were given probation while on probation over 2 decades ago. While Bama is bad when it comes committing violations, they are not even the worst team at violations in the state. You MAY hate Bama, but I don't hate Tennessee, the fans on the other hand.......

UPDATE: Jackson may have al charges against him dropped, as it's being reported that he not only did not attempt to rob anyone, that he may have been unaware of what was happening, because he was in the convenience store at the time it happened, and he stopped it when he exited. Silver lining.

This is such BS and you know it. You are being naive if you believe that Jackson was "unaware of what was happening", considering the fact a witness says they heard him say, "let's go." Furthermore there are rumors that one of the players was still wearing his Tennessee gear at the time of the robbery attempt.

So if you don't mind I am going to enjoy this story, because when Jimmy Johns was arrested for dealing crack at Bama, I didn't hear the end of it. Saban threw the kid off the team before you could say "yo", and yet Tennessee and Auburn fans kept harping about how Bama was housing criminials. So, (with apologizes to dew) I think I am going to enjoy the story.

That would be a solid conference. What would they do with the WAC though? They'd be down to 6 teams.

Steal from the CUSA West if you can. Of course I wouldn't leave CUSA for the bottom 2/3rds of the WAC, so...North Texas? Montana? Not a whole lot of options for football.

I'm not sure if you were serious but I highly doubt Montana jumps. They're in the FCS playoffs every single year and they get 20K+ fans at each home game. I'm not sure they'd trade all of the FCS success for a chance at FBS.

That or a very loose (read: false) definition of the word fact. Hell, I'd be careful of a slander lawsuit for that.

Mountain West to Expand to 12, receive auto BCS bid?
The latest rumor coming out of Washington DC is that the MWC has invited Boise State, Fresno State, and Nevada to join the nine team MWC.

I will reiterate: it's just a rumor. But given the growing number of rumblings, and the pragmatism surrounding this concept, it seems to have legs. At least at face value.

The only reason the MWC would ever expand is if they were somehow guaranteed an automatic seat at the BCS table.

So if there is any truth to this rumor, it is fair to assume that there is some degree of cooperation from the BCS.

At a cursory glance, this makes perfect sense. A beefed up MWC with four football powerhouses (all of whom have reached a top five ranking within the last 12 months), a 3-0 BCS Bowl record and now a conference championship game, would more than qualify the MWC 12 as a legit BCS conference.

So the practicality of it alone lends credence to the idea. Plus, a careful evaluation of the players involved might imply something may be in the works.

I have a hard time believing the BCS bowls would be chomping at the bit to have a better chance of getting more teams with no fans in their games.

Would those teams gain more fans as the conference becomes more prominent? Right now, despite being a perennially very good team, none of those teams have a realistic shot at being a national championship contender. As they become more prominent and have a realistic shot at a national title, their exposure could/would grow and, thus, so would their fan base.

That conference would absolutely be better than the Big East right now. It would probably be as good as the Big 10 this year, though that wouldn't hold true in years past.

I think they should take the top six teams from that hypothetical conference (TCU, Boise, Utah, BYU and two others) and make that the Big XII North. A Texas-TCU game would be a hell of a lot more competitive than whoever Texas ends up facing this year in the Big XII title game.

Yep, typical. Bama has been on probation for, what, 17 consecutive years now? NCAA record, btw. By all means, deflect to Auburn and their mistakes.

Yes, Mike Edwards was wearing his "Impossible is Nothing" sweatshirt. What's your point?

FACT: Edwards and Richardson were the two identified by the victims as the two who came to the car. FACT: Jackson was inside during this. FACT: Jackson came up to the car and told the other two "let's go," effectively ending the attempted robbery.

Is it possible that Jackson is in big trouble? Oh yes, and if he's guilty, I hope he's kicked off the team. Heck, I want Nuke and Edwards gone tonight, and both are considered big parts of the future of TN Football. So, enjoy it if you want to, but it isn't going to make even the slightest difference to me.

I think the Pac10 should expand with Boise and Utah, but I'm sure Stanford wouldn't want to be in a conference with such plebeian schools

Not that this isn't a good idea for the MWC in the long run, but TCU is definitely a national title contender right now. Texas probably wins out a little over 50% of the time (including Big 12 CG), Cincy probably wins out 30-35% of the time, and TCU is about 85-90% to run the table at this point. Even if it's a given that an undefeated Cincy will pass them in the standings, that's still a 25-30% chance TCU finishes ahead of both of them. Boise and GT aren't passing them in the standings, so all that's left at that point is passing the SEC CG loser. My percentages could be a little off, but they still have a legitimate shot.

Well, Saturday's game against Ole Miss just got much more difficult.

3 Tennessee freshmen were arrested late last night after robbing 3 other students suing an airsoft gun.

What did they sue the guns for? :D

Will never happen. The Pac-10 is still a basketball conference first, and what do those teams add to the conference? Honestly, not much.

Utah has been a great basketball program for some time. Maybe not elite anymore, but more than good enough for the Pac-10. Boise St's program would make huge stride's simply by being in that conference.

Isn't the Pac 10 somewhat like the Big 10 where they take into account the academics of a school? I mean, I know ASU and Oregon St. aren't exactly Harvard, but I'm not sure the California schools would be so welcoming to a Boise St.

Can any conference question the credibility of other schools if they already have the AZ schools around? Is Boise St. even considered a lesser instittution than those?

Utah ranked just below Arizona State in the latest US News and World Report rankings.

There's no way the Pac-10 would even entertain that idea.

If South Carolina managed to beat Florida yet Florida beat Alabama in the SEC Championship would Florida still be ahead of TCU for the BCS Championship?

I doubt it. I think the poll drop would be enough to give TCU the bump.

Not that I think South Carolina has any chance.

Yeah, all 4 California schools plus Washington wouldn't be too pleased with schools like Fresno State or Boise State academically. It's one of the reasons the Pac-10 hasn't expanded. All the talk of Pac-10 expansion has always started with a school like Colorado.
