ESPN has LewJack playing. That can't be true. He was just ruled out indefinitely a week ago and there has been no coverage on the Lafayette paper about him coming back.

LewJack did not play. Purdue didn't look that bad. Completely manhandled St. Jo's in the 2nd half.

What is that trophy in your sig?

The Hawks are going to shock the world and beat #3 Texas tonight. I can feel it.

Nevermind, hopefully they can keep it within 20. Aaron Fuller is hurt which means we'll probably have to give Andrew Brommer minutes inside. Which is bad news. Plus with he and Devon Archie hurt that's like half of our black guys hurt. So to everyone on ESPN we'll officially be the whitest team ever.

I would assume Big Ten Tourney from last year. Personally while it's something to be proud about it isn't something I would I would go around bragging about how you got a trophy or showing pictures of the trophy. Brag about winning but not about the trophy. I don't know if that makes sense. Kind of hard to explain.

Why wouldn't a picture of the trophy be a decent visual representation of winning the Big Ten Tournament?

I've not seen Tennessee play this year. Any thoughts on how Purdue will match up against them tonight?

I don't know that much about Purdue, but Tennessee has been shooting lights out from outside so far - only 51% from inside the arc, but 47% from outside it. They also run the usual Bruce Pearl style - fast, heavy pressure and trying to force turnovers and get quick shots. I haven't seen much from them this year, but from listening on the radio and from talk around the program, they're playing much faster than last year.

Scotty Hopson has been the star so far, shooting 59% from the field and 63% beyond the arc. Tyler Smith and Cameron Tatum have been quite good from the field as well. No true point guard, though, (but Melvin Goins might become that) and the inside guys aren't huge.

Anyone that only beats DePaul by 4 points can't be that good. Purdue should handle them.

That was after demolishing two other teams by an average of 47.7 points. I don't know how good this Tennessee team will be – better than last year for sure, I think – but one tough game in the third game of the year isn't time to say they're not that good a team. Purdue could blow them out or Tennessee could win, but neither will be because they beat DePaul by 4 points.

Thanks, I haven't actually seen Purdue play yet this year either because nothing has been nationally televised. I don't think this game is either.

Sounds like they could cause problems for Purdue with no Lew Jack and no other true PG. Isn't another one of their guards banged up as well?

Not that I know of, unless someone got hurt last night.

I think the final score of the DePaul-Tennessee game last night said a lot more about DePaul than it did about Tennessee.

Yeah, it's only regionally broadcast. Apparently on Fox College Sports, according to UT's website.

It's the 1932 National Championship trophy. The picture accompanied and article about how the team was driven to make the Final Four in Indy this season. Eyes on the prize.

Purdue is just as likely to lose than to win. They have not started well in any game and have been able to win because they were playing a team who sucks. Tennessee doesn't suck. Purdue starters haven't shot well from outside whatsoever this year if they struggle against Tennessee they will lose.

If they play like they did against DePaul, they'll lose by 90. That game was heinous.

Well sure, but that's not close to the best Tennessee can play. It's not indicative of the team Tennessee is this year.

Well yeah, they've got way too much talent to play like that. I wouldn't be surprised if they're a little Jekyl and Hyde based on whether or not their opponents can handle their pressure D. They should run roughshod over the SEC though.

They've always been wildly hot and cold under Pearl. That's especially why you can't put any stock in the DePaul game alone - they go from awful to awesome overnight all the time.

The only real trouble I think they'll have in the SEC this year is Kentucky. The Wildcats have a ton of great young players, but Tennessee will have the edge of being more experienced while not significantly (though noticeably) less talented. The pressure D could definitely give the young Wildcats some problems.

I'm really hoping this team can get over that Sweet 16 hump. Two of the past three years we've been knocked out in that round and I'd like to see at least an Elite Eight appearance.

That's just plain sad. I'm proud of the 32 NC and have mentioned it to friends before when they say we've never won one but I sure as hell wouldn't be using like this. It's not really something to brag about. It's cool and nice but doesn't mean much to any other fan base and most of the time I mention it they laugh.
