We really don't have much of a choice right now but to run DMac out there for 35 minutes/game. (He's averaging ~37 in Big Ten play) The offense just doesn't move without him out there. Unless a player is looking to shoot, they just stand there waiting for DMac to take the ball back from him. I'm comfortable that by next year, one of DJ or Bertrand will have the confidence to run the show (or Paul will have the patience to run it), but for now we're lifeless without him. We basically have to keep doing stuff like last night, getting him out of there with ~8:20 left, and get him an extended breath while only being out of the game for 45 seconds.

I heard this talked about on the way home today. He shouldn't have said it but I'm not going to blast him for it. He's not saying that UNC's struggles are more important than the situation in Haiti. The situation at UNC hits him a hell of a lot harder than an earthquake in Haiti.

There are some lines that look crazy out there today(so they're probably exactly right). Northwestern is only a 3 point favorite at Iowa City. Duke is only a 5.5 point favorite at UNC.

 

Pomeroy only has Northwestern winning by 5 so it's not that far off. In the last two weeks at home Iowa led OSU for roughly 35 minutes and were down by 3 to Illinois with 1 minute left.

 

I really hope we beat them tonight. And in Evanston. I also hope it comes on a fluke last-second shot. It's about time it happened to them. They've had about 5 of those this decade when they had an inferior team and Iowa had a tournament appearance or Big Ten title on the line. Topsy-turvy that mfer.

I am going to blast him because there is no positive result to even comparing the two situations. I'm sure the situation at UNC DOES hit him a hell of a lot harder than an earthquake in Haiti. That doesn't mean it makes sense to talk about it. He just wanted to show the world how much it hurts Ol' Roy to lose. Because everything is all about Roy.

I'm glad JT Tiller blew up in 2nd half, because if we lost I was all ready to go on a rant about how he is useless right now and he should be getting the Miguel Paul treatment (don't play unless you have to, and if you have to, make sure he doesn't shoot).
