I really hope we beat them tonight. And in Evanston. I also hope it comes on a fluke last-second shot. It's about time it happened to them. They've had about 5 of those this decade when they had an inferior team and Iowa had a tournament appearance or Big Ten title on the line. Topsy-turvy that mfer.

Maybe the best overall game of the year. Really good defense until garbage time, took care of the ball and hit shots. Should have easily eclipsed 80 if Cully hits free throws down the stretch.

Great, great win tonight especially considering UCD's best player didn't play tonight and that they lost by 16 (it was much worse than that) at Pacific a month ago. Keeps alive their chances at a bye in the Big West tournament also.

Who are you and why are you so clueless on everything you post? Good call on Illinois being a 7th place team that won't come close to making the tournament last week.

 

What was pretty ridiculous? Yes shooting 3's against a 1-3-1 zone is absurd. Especially when you're getting wide open looks. As far as saving Lickliter's job, get a clue. He's here next year regardless of what happened in the Big Ten.

No? He was ranked No. 20 by Rivals and No. 14 by RSCI. Perhaps that was the Duke effect, I don't recall how he was ranked prior to commitment/recruitment by Duke.

After the media committee's first vote, 19 teams are in:

 

BYU, Duke, Georgetown, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Michigan State, New Mexico, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse, Temple, Tennessee, Texas, Vanderbilt, Villanova, West Virginia and Wisconsin

 

53 other teams in consideration, currently doing a top 8 vote among Baylor, Georgia Tech, Rhode Island, Richmond, Texas A&M, Northern Iowa, UNLV and Wake Forest. Top 4 from that vote will be moved into the field.

 

To me, I'm mostly amazed that two A-10 teams are among the "next 8" after a first 19 that already includes another A-10 team. And none of them are Xavier (this means I really need to look more at the A-10 before I start doing any mock committees in 3 weeks).
