Northwestern beating the teams they need to be beating

If we keep that up, we'll be dancing.

Even if you guys fall to Wisconsin, I have a hard time seeing Northwestern missing the tournament if they can beat everybody else on their remaining schedule.

There's no chance McCamey gets BTPOY. Turner's going to get serious consideration for National POTY.

But McCamey has definitely impressed me as a point guard this year. Anyone that says he doesn't have an NBA ceiling might need to get their head checked.

okay, you're probably right.

1) The game was awesome last night, it was great to see the Hall rocking the way it should be.

2) I don't think I've been that drunk in a long time.

3) All the typical Bruce Weber things that I was expecting to happen did not. We found a way to score at the end of the game, and he did not over coach. D Mac played one of his best games ever, and always shows up big in the big games.

4) The win was huge for our tournament hopes, and was one that I had penciled in as a loss. If we find a way to beat OSU and go 2-2 over this stretch than I think we are golden for the tourney IF we don't slip up at Michigan.

5) I don't care about the court rush, and think it's [expletive] people get their panties in a bunch over this type of thing. Is it overdone? Yes. Should Illinois have stormed the floor? Probably not, but given what we have gone through and the adrenaline of the day I think it is hard to fault the students for getting out on the floor.

To be fair Illinois managed to score at the end because D Mac was in the zone and making 3-pters. Probably didn't have anything to do with Weber.

And we kept scoring at the end because he didn't have Jordan and Cole, two guys who can't score in at the same time. Which is something to do with Weber

I don't even think we have to necessarily beat Minnesota either. Assuming we lose to Minny and Wisconsin but beat everyone else, we'd finish 22-9 overall and 10-8 in the Big10. That should be enough.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves here :-)

I could see them making it, but that would leave their only wins over tourney teams being Purdue and maybe Illinois. It could also put them as low as 7th in the Big Ten pecking order depending on how Illinois and Minnesota's seasons played out. I can't see them taking 7 Big Ten teams.

iowa state's loss to northwestern ruined their season.

This was the first sign of trouble, but unfortunately the problems are much deeper than a single loss.

This would be the type of homerism I am talking about. Someone makes a comment putting Illinois in the negative light and he gets attacked despite being right. Tadowdaddy didn't say KSU has done more than Illinois. If anything he is saying KSU has done less. He said KSU doesn't even do that alluding to that Illinois has done enough and its fanbase should be proud enough that it shouldn't storm the court in a regular season conference win.

EXACTLY!!!!!!! I wasn't comparing KSU to Illinois. I was saying that Illinois HAS been there before and should act like it.

At the rate things are going, Texas is going to be lucky to finish 8-8 in the conference.

Man are the refs trying to give this game to Texas

That's every game.

Now that they've lost 5 out of their last 7 they MAY fall out of the Top 15.

Huge night in the Big Ten tonight.

Yup need Purdue to beat State tonight, and Illinois to beat Wiscy, and we will have a 3 way tie for 1st in the Big Ten.

i WILL be a homer for a little bit here and say that mccamey, at this point, is the BTPOY. he has absolutely carried this team.

I know you're being a homer but c'mon sulley. McCamey is averaging 15.4 points per game, 6.4 assists, 3.1 rebounds, is shooting 49 percent from the field and 38 percent from 3 and scoring 1.43 points per shot (I can't do all this for conference games only). However, Evan Turner is averaging 19.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 2.0 steals, is shooting 56 percent from the field, and 1.41 points per shot (Turner missed two Big Ten games and wasn't his normal self the first game back). In conference, Turner is leading the Big Ten in scoring at 20.9, is fifth in rebounding at 7.4, is fifth in field goal percentage at 55 percent, is second to McCamey in assists with 5.7, and first in steals at 2.4. McCamey's been really good, but Big Ten Player of the Year is a runaway.

If Purdue can pull off the upset (and I think it would be an upset even without Lucas - being on the road), there will be a 4 way tie in the loss column with OSU and Purdue being half a game back of State and Illinois/Wisconsin.
