This is a good time to mention that Illinois's almost-all-orange backdrop of T-shirts is one of the coolest things about college hoops. Always impresses me.

Commentators getting self-righteous about rushing the court is absolutely stupid.

I actually thought Vitale made good points against rushing the court: people can get seriously hurt, and Illinois has had too much success in basketball for this to be a shock.

I have a feeling if it weren't Gameday, though, the fans wouldn't have rushed.

So watching this Illinois/Mich. St. game has me thinking. Who is the All-Big Ten First Team as of tonight (real lineup not 4 guards or something like that). I think the only locks are McCamey and Lucas right now. After that Hummel is probably on there. Johnson and Moore also are in consideration which makes it tough for me because I don't really see a better center than Johnson and Moore has been the one to step up in big games and is our leading scorer. I would have the team as ...

I don't agree with court storming, really ever. It's stupid, and generally unlike Illini fans.

You're probably right about the gameday part, but it's no excuse. Vitale probably would have overlooked it had it been an ACC game, though.

i like how dick was whining about the safety of the refs as they were casually walking off the court with no fans anywhere near them

On second thought, Vitale is probably still traumatized by the time he almost got trampled to death back in the nineties (it was UCLA fans, if iirc).

The one thing that has me still optimistic is that if this team ever figures out how to defend like Weber teams typically defend, they'll be really good.

Cracks me up that Illinois stormed the court, but KSU didn't vs UT. It wouldn't have happened had we beat KU either. It's all about acting like you've been there before.

Yeah forgot about Turner. Does he qualify for the stats yet? I think that may be why I missed him. I would take Shurna off.

Battle doesn't make because his team is winless. I'm not one say POY or MVP's can't be on losing teams but winless teams and losing teams are completely different to me and winless teams shouldn't have players get awards and recognitions unless they are head an shoulders above everyone else and Battle isn't.
