that's... interesting. CANT TEACH HEIGHT.

the closer we get to draft day, the more positive i am that we end up with harden/trade the pick for a veteran

I'm hoping the promise is from Detroit.

So whats everybodys thoughts on who the Bulls will probably pick?

I'm hoping for Terence Williams or DeJuan Blair (though the news about his knee problems are worrisome). Wouldn't complain about Psycho T or James Johnson at 16. I would love Omri Casspi at 26.

Those are the four I want at 16. Blair, Johnson, Williams, Hansbrough in order.

Raisin, don't hate me, but I'd be ok with Budinger at 26

“Chase Budinger was awful in my opinion. He just doesn’t play. All he wants to do is shoot jumpers. That’s not basketball. He didn’t want to be there. Didn’t want to compete. He couldn’t put it on the floor. You should have seen his face when he was switched onto Paul Harris. He definitely didn’t want anything to do with him. “

After reading that, Budinger is definately not a GarPax player.

Arthritic knees scare the heck out of me in basketball players.

Jordan had arthritic knees. Of course, not when he was 20. I'm really starting to change my stance on Blair. I still like him and think he'll be a decent pro, but he may have a 5-year career at this point. And if he doesn't come in and play right away, that's very little benefit to the Bulls.

Bad knees + potential weight problem = huge risk.

Still we aren't talking about a top 5, franchise changing pick. This is a non-lottery pick in one of the weakest drafts in years. You hope for a strong role player at this point.

Especially when you look at the picks for the Bulls. I don't see us going to an all-guard rotation anytime soon.

I could see Lawson at 16th (since there have been rumors that the Bulls would like to play Rose off the ball more next yr, and picking Lawson could confirm that they could/trade Hinrich) and a big at 26th less likely, IMO, or a big at 16th (Hansborugh most likely) and either Ellington or Thornton at 26th, but not both picks being guards.

With that said....

I know, I know nbadraft.net isn't the best source, but I find it interesting that they have the Bulls talking TWO SF. I like Earl Clark, and if he is there at 16 and the Bulls take him, I would estatic.

I like Lawson but I don't get him for the Bulls at all. They need a solid rotation guy who can contribute right away with rebounding and defense or with length and 3 point shooting, IMO. Why would they take Rose off the ball? It's an intriguing thought but Lawson only makes sense if you're planning on playing them together quite a bit. If he's just a backup PG it's not worth it.

The Bulls have held trade talks with several teams about packaging the 16th and 26th picks into one higher selection, with two league sources insisting the target is Duke shooting guard Gerald Henderson.

"We've also had talks with teams about moving back," Forman said. "And we've had talks with teams where either with one or both of our picks, we move out."

"I think it's going to be a very active draft because there are the top five or six guys, and after that, the same guy who goes nine or 10 could go 20 or 21," Forman said. "We'd like a low-post scorer. But when you get that deep, I'm not sure you can pinpoint a specific need and meet it. If we can with somebody we like, then we would address it."

Forman said trade talk involving potential 2010 free agents such as the Suns' Amare Stoudemire and the Raptors' Chris Bosh has been minimal. ESPN.com resurrected an old rumor in which Portland could target guard Kirk Hinrich in a draft-day deal.

Henderson's not the guy I'd target if the Bulls traded up.

Homer alert

It would be a high risk, high reward move. But, Henderson has tremendous upside. He is an OK defender and improved a lot from his sophomore to junior year in that aspect. He could develop into a very good defender. On the offensive side, I don't know how well his game will play in the NBA. He is a tremendous slasher, but can't go to his left very well. His drives are almost exclusively to the right. His jumper improved a lot in the second half of the year last year. If he could add a little range and consistency to his jumper and improve his defense a little bit, he will be a very good player.

Richard Jefferson traded to the Spurs from the Bucks.

What a deal for the Spurs. Sheesh, just gave him away...

Anywho...Anyone have anything on what the blazers will do with their 6 picks? I know that they have been stalking some european players due to come in the next couple of years but this would be the season to do some trading and get value for Paul Allen's Cash.

As soon as I saw that deal, I thought that it was a typical Skiles move.

I'm not a fan of Terrence Williams at all. I hope the Bulls stay away from him. I'd like the James Johnson pick because that would signal to me that they would be willing to ship Deng away. As I've said before, I wouldn't mind the Bulls taking Hansbrough either. It'll be interesting to see what happens on Thursday night.
