The Washington Wizards are close to a deal that would send the No. 5 pick in Thursday's draft, Oleksiy Pecherov, Etan Thomas and Darius Songaila to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Randy Foye and Mike Miller, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher on Tuesday.

Best part of that link is seeing that fat piece of [expletive] May isn't getting his contract renewed.

Too bad the refs from the 05 NCAA championship game didn't know he was a scrub.

For what's available at 5 and 6 in this year's draft I don't see that as a very good deal for the Wolves.

That Roy/Foye deal keeps looking better and better.

Oh pls. Like you have never, ever seen guys that were great in college but fell flat in the pros. May is just a modern-day Stacey King.

That's pretty insulting to Stacey King.

hey I like Stacey, but the only thing of note he ever did in his pro career was being part of the team of subs who caught up to the Blazers in Game 6 of the 92' Finals.

Shaq to Cleveland for Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, and the 46th pick in Thursday's draft.

Kinda sucks they never got him during the season. That would have made the playoffs a hell of a lot more fascinating.

If New Orleans sells its first round pick again, I will swear them off. George Shinn is just a terrible person and the management has screwed up a lot. I can't take any more moves just to save money at the expense of getting younger or better. I should have jumped off of them when they left Charlotte, but I had to keep with them. Any suggestions for teams I could jump to?

I want to rule out any team that won a championship in the last ten years or won over 50 games last year.

That takes out the Pistons, Spurs, Lakers, Celtics, Cavaliers, Magic, Nuggets, Blazers, Rockets, Mavericks.

If a team's best player is over 30, they are out.

Bye-bye Philadelphia, Detroit, Milwaukee, Washington, Phoenix, Golden State, and the Clippers.

That leaves me with 13 teams. I don't want any more terrible owners.

See ya- Knicks, Sacramento, Charlotte

I can't myself becoming a Utah, Miami, Toronto, Memphis, or Minnesota fan.

I am left with the Nets, Thunder, Bulls, Hawks, or the Pacers.

I am thinking either OKC or Chicago.

Anybody want to sway me?

Posted

OKC needs ya more then Chicago does....

Besides you don't want to root for a team that is own by an owner of the other baseball team in Chicago, do you Vanilla?

Why is Jerry Reinsdorf "an awful person".

Other than the fact that it's fun to pick on White Sox personel, I don't get the Reinsdorf hate. His teams have won lots of games and multiple championships. He spends money and doesn't screw people over.

Exactly - I don't get why people hate on him. He spends reasonable amounts of money in spite of the notoriously fical Sox fanbase and clearly allows his marketing department a pretty nice budget. He's loyal to Ken Williams and Guillien in spite of themselves. The Sox have been over .500 every year this decade excepting 2007, have won more than 90 games three times and won a WS.

On the Bulls side of things, Reinsdorf showed loyalty to Jerry Krause even though he didn't necessarily deserve it, he paid Michael Jordan $35 million a year for each his last two years with the team, he authorized the recent spending on Hinrich, Wallace, Noc, etc.

Could he have done more to keep the 98' Bulls together - maybe (Jackson - much as I love him - seemed hell-bent on leaving, as did Pippen). But that ignores all that was done under Reinsdorf's watch to put together basketball's greatest dynasty and greatest teams.
