To put the same chart on this page..

Ok thanks. I was wrong, but number 3? really?
It's what happens when every game is 1 - 0 or 1 - -1 instead of 55-10. The BCS was perfectly fine when it used margin of victory. This could be the second time in five years we can have the #1 ranked team not in the BCS Title game because of removing margin of victory.

the computers are so stupid. texas tech is ahead of oklahoma in two of the computers. this is what happens when you ignore margin of victory. i wonder what will happen if florida beat alabama and stays behind texas and oklahoma. they've got quite a bit of room to make up in the computers. granted they play #21 and #1.5 in the computers, but they are currently 6th. If they win, they gain some ground on Texas I guess, but really there's very little room to improve against OU and Texas in the computers. Right now Texas and OU have another top 15 opponent left on their schedule.

There's a very real chance that Florida could beat #1 Alabama and not get in the BCS Champ game despite being #1 in the AP and Harris polls.

If there is a Baby Jesus, he will help Florida State beat (and I don't care by how much) the Gators this weekend.

it would be the most ou-thing ever to win huge over texas tech and then screw it all up against osu next week

please god, no. i don't want to lose in stillwater

Luckily, OU only loses to the inbred sheep******s only one out of every 5 tries. Man, I can't stand those stupid orange-clad rednecks.

I have a feeling this is going to be the year that the BCS is really going to be questioned. If Florida beats Alabama, this thing is going to be one huge mess

Chances USC can cover 28.5 against Notre Dame.

I'd say pretty good.

It will look remarkably similar to the listless 41-10 beatdown that we took to mark the end of the Tyrone era. It may be a decade-plus before we beat USC again.

That's a total load of bullhowry. Those computers should be removed from the rankings effective immediately; they have zero credibility.

Utah isn't better than Penn State.

computers are dumb

I do agree with you that Utah is in absolutely no way a better team than Penn State, but the fact that Utah is ranked higher than Florida is TRULY laughable and most telling of the stupidity of the computer system. In their 8 games against SEC opponents this year, they've outscored the opposition by an average of 32 points; not just scored 32 points a game, but outscored their opponents by that much. Take out the Ole Miss game and it's 37 points a game against conference opponents. That just isn't supposed to happen in a major conference in college football.

This is silly. 32 points in conference play is enough to be impressive. You don't have to selectively remove a game to make them look better.

Oh and has anyone made the joke yet that Cal Poly beat Wisconsin cause PATs don't count?

Let's go Ping! UT/UK to break the streak.

Kentucky will probably win, but hopefully the guys will show up for Phil Fulmer Day.

UK hasn't played well as of late and you already mentioned Fulmer. I hope this streaks, any record that dates back to the 80s is awful.

I am now somewhat wishing for Utah in the BCS so they can get exposed. I think they are a good team but no way are they top 10 or competitive with the best of the big conferences teams.

Welcome back old man!!!!! I wish it was patterson, but I can live with Snyder!

It really doesn't bother you? Not only was Snyder fielding awful teams by the end of his tenure, but he's about 70 years old and hasn't coached in 4 years. Furthermore, how is he going to recruit any talent there knowing that he's just a placeholder coach? With all the JUCO's they have leaving after next year they might have a 30 man roster in 2010.

He also lived and died by his assistants, most of whom are head coaches elsewhere now. I don't like the move. But with the state of disarray that the KSU AD is in, I'm not sure what they could have done. I think this ends badly for the WIldcats.

I wish they'd have been more patient and let the Patterson thing play out, but I guess they felt that he was stringing them along. It doesn't bother me though because of the following reasons:

1. Snyder was tired in 2004 and was too nice of a guy to get rid of his incompetent staff. This led to his downfall. IE: Booby Elliott, Ron Hudson, Michael Smith. Thus, he retired instead of having to fire them all. He's also gained weight and energy since then. I think the amount of time he was putting into losing was killing him.

2. He's going to bring in a new staff with someone designated to be the "interim" head coach. I can't see how it's a bad thing that he'll be grooming someone to be a successor as opposed to the malarkey that went on last time with the hire of Prince. That's also not a bad thing for recruiting.

3. The staff he brings in this time will be new, fresh faces. I'm hearing Chuck Long, Phil Bennett (he was VERY successful as the DC last time he was here), Dana Dimmel, Eckler (NU), and Brooks Barta. Long, Bennett and Dimmel all have Texas ties and have been very successful recruiters in the past.

4. How the hell can I let it bother me. Our AD sucks, but I love the old man! I'm all for giving him another shot to turn this around. It can't be any worse than it was under prince.

We'll see. I guarantee that Snyder will bring in strong assistants. Dimmel, Long, and Bennett would be a hell of a start IMO. How could I be displeased with that? We'll see. Just gotta let it all play out.

I'm thinking it will be worse than that, and I doubt ND will score 10.

Fun Florida Gator Fact of the Day: Florida has scored SIX touchdowns in each of the last five games before their opponents have scored ONE touchdown. That's impressive in one game, much less five in a row.
