Carp hurt after being rushed back from surgery. Impossible.

You know, I gotta tell ya. LaRussa's been playing this dangerous game all year long. Pitching wellemeyer when he says he can't even straighten his arm all the way, then pitching Carp after only two rehab starts.

I feel bad if it's serious for Carp. When does LaRussa get called on the carpet for this though? That's irresponsible.

Gotta think they rushed him back too early.
16 months?

Pry should have gave him a few more rehab starts, it is tough to throw him into a game of this magnitude already.

Rammy is only hitting .210 with an 2-0 count? That cannot be right. Can it?

Yeah it's right. So is the .182 average after a 3-1 count. He does have a .667 OBP in that spot though.

He's also hitting .300 after an 0-2 count and .295/.358/.536 after a 1-2 count.

He's hitting .364 with a .667 SLG in 66 AB's on the 1-2 pitch.

Carpenter's looked much better than I expected.

You were right though, he did look pretty good.

Might have something to do with his enormous hacks on 2-0 pitches

What was with the Cubs fans booing when Carpenter left the game? It sounded like slightly more cheers than boos, but still I think booing a pitcher in that situation is a little uncalled for, especially when he has pitched a decent game.

CUBS are 61-39 when they draw at least 2 walks.... 8-8 when they don't

Go CUBS !!

You don't happen to have the stats from 06 on how many games the Cubs drew 2 or more walks and how many they didn't, do you?

yeah... but it's on another computer.

As I started to say before I realized Carp was leaving, seeing Jimmy's bat flip again I can't believe he didn't take one in the ribs yesterday.

But nevermind all that, nice play Kennedy! Woohoo!
