Let's assume for the moment that the Cubs that are leading the vote right now stay in front (and given Soto's margin, as well as Soriano and Fukudome's popularity, I think they will). Zambrano will also make the game, possibly as the starting pitcher. Marmol might be selected. Both Aramis and D-Lee have a chance. Dempster has a shot. This could be the most All Stars the Cubs have had in... ever?

I'm way too excited about that.

They pretty much nailed the infield(while horribly butchering the OF) Nice work fans. Keep up the Soto love everyone.

Yeah...while it's no excuse, they really need to stop lumping all the OF's into the same pool. It makes for strange voting.

Nice not to see Bonds in there though.

I think Webb has to fall pretty hard (harder than his 2 losses in a row) to not start the game. I think the 9-0 start will go a long way.

Wow thats a shock. Cubs fans usually don't stuff the boxes well (Vance excluded), so its surprising to see how the Cubs are doing at so many positions.

How the hell does Theriot have more votes than Rollins?

Martin

OF:

Soriano

Fukudome

Griffey

McLouth

Burrell

Holliday

Braun

P:

Zambrano

Capps

Lincecum

Voloquez

Redding

Hammels

Lyon

Lidge

Dodgers: Martin

Giants: Lincecum

Padres: Gonzalez

Rockies: Holliday

Diamondbacks: Webb, Hudson, Lyon

Cubs: Soriano, Fukudome, Dempster, Soto, Zambrano

I spent literally 5 minutes on this so I am probably missing some key players.

Edinson Volquez might have something to say about that.

Carlos Marmol, imo.

Yeah, I don't see how he gets left off.

Billy Wagner would have to be on there if he keeps his ERA that low. It's at 0.43 right now.

And Grit!

I think there's been some backlash against Rollins for winning an undeserved MVP, plus, he's missed a lot of time this year, and he plays in a city where the fans hate all their players.

Setup men rarely get selected, and if they do, it's usually the teams only representative. Others have been selected, but I doubt Marmol gets the nod with the pitching so far in the NL. A couple of other relievers will have similar cases, and they'll probably all be left off. Taylor Bucholz, for example, is about even or ahead of Marmol in all the categories besides strikeouts.

At this point Aramis should be picked over Wright.

But has absolutely no chance to be, unfortunately.

By my calculation, Aramis is probably the fourth best third baseman in baseball right now. Only A-Rod, Wright, and Chipper could be picked ahead of him. Am I wrong?
