I spent literally 5 minutes on this so I am probably missing some key players.

Carlos Marmol, imo.

Yeah, I don't see how he gets left off.

Setup men rarely get selected, and if they do, it's usually the teams only representative. Others have been selected, but I doubt Marmol gets the nod with the pitching so far in the NL. A couple of other relievers will have similar cases, and they'll probably all be left off. Taylor Bucholz, for example, is about even or ahead of Marmol in all the categories besides strikeouts.

Recently setup men have been getting selected much more frequently. The pitching has been pretty good in the NL, but I think Marmol will make it. Bucholz, as you said, is even or ahead of Marmol in a lot of categories, but Marmol has over twice as many Ks, 4 more holds, and also performed like this all of last year. I think Bucholz past may keep him off the team (he's never been bad, but never been even close to dominant), but I could easily see both being selected as well.

At this point Aramis should be picked over Wright.

But has absolutely no chance to be, unfortunately.

By my calculation, Aramis is probably the fourth best third baseman in baseball right now. Only A-Rod, Wright, and Chipper could be picked ahead of him. Am I wrong?

Jose Castillo says "Well.... nah, yeah you're right"

Although at this point, Garrett Atkins has been pretty good, even though he doesn't know how to draw a walk

Are the Astros stuffing ballot boxes? All 8 of their starting position players are listed there. Kaz Matsui second at 2B. Towles anywhere on the list. FTH?

That is ridiculous. How does Michael Bourn get anywhere near 100K votes, I know I have him on my Fantasy team for steals and all but he's hitting just a notch above his weight.

I wonder if the hometown fans of the Astros in Vance's hometown are trying to get back at him... :-k

Does anyone know the most Cubs to start an All-Star game since 69?

The most I can find is 3. 1990 had Sandberg, Dawson, Dunston. 2004 had Sosa, Alou and Z.

Thanks ccc.

I wonder if Obama and Hillary are jealous that a baseball player is getting more votes than Senator McCann.

Voting also has the right division, wrong outfielders. McLouth, Bay, *cough*Ludwick*cough* are probably the best three NL outfielders at this point. Possibly Burrell too.

If you take age into account, I wouldn't even put Chipper ahead of him.

I keep a record of how many I make each day with a simple calendar using a hash mark every time I make 25 votes. So one mark=25 votes. Since May 1, I have voted 5,000 times. I forgot to vote any yesterday.

If I need to, I'll pick up the pace.

Let's keep this going.

i hate that the allstar game is based almost entirely on who has the hottest month and a half to open the season.

ryan ludwick being talked about as an allstar is patently absurd. just vote for the best players at each position.

Since when has this been the kind of voting that happens each and every year? Albert Pujols could be hitting .256 with 4 home runs and 19 RBI's right now and he'd probably be one of the top vote getters on the all-star ballot at this point. Uninformed fans outvote the ones who are. The people who only follow their own team will fill out the ballot and go "Oh, Ken Griffey, Jr. He's one of the all-time greats, he's definitely an all-star"

And boom, Griffey's got votes, despite sucking something fierce this season.

I think the people who are having the best two months of the season thus far should be getting the most votes, because if they're the best players for these two months, then they clearly deserve the consideration, regardless of how they will trend in the future. Ryan Ludwick is worthy of getting every single vote at this point, his numbers are ridiculous. Players who bust their asses and are one of the best at their position the first few months of the year, but don't go to the AS game because they're not the big name players who we're all used to seeing there (and who aren't performing better than these guys), are getting cheated.

Any one else vote for Pie just top spite Lou and Hendry? And LOL at Edmonds not only being on the list but being on it for SD. Good I wish they could still claim his services.

And I doubt Marmol makes it. If we do indeed get Geo, Soriano, Fukudome, Zambrano and one of either Lee or Dempster the manager isn't going to select another Cub when there are quite a few stellar pitchers this year. Then again Lou could be the manager sine we have the best record and he might take Marmol if he has an open slot not filled by every team must have one rule player.

Its not like I did it on purpose its just I belive those are the rightful players. If I did not vote for Braun I would of voted for Adam Dunn.

Meh, I would rather have our players get an extra day of rest anyways. We have to play in that meaningless Hall of Fame game.

McCann over Soto is laughable. He is Geovany Soto.

I'm personally hoping it basically ends up like an intramural softball game, with no one giving close to 100% and everyone screwing around on and off the field.
