The Cubs are prepared to move Kosuke Fukudome to center on occasion, using Micah Hoffpauir in right and relagating Edmonds to the bench, if not out the door.

Great plan. Lets move Fukudome out of the position promised to him to get Hoff some playing time in right. What's that? Your top prospect down in AAA? to hell with him.

If only Pie had hit .400 in his first 10 plate appearances...

I don't even understand why the Cubs even bothered with this guy. He's been terrible for us, worse than Pie.

if numbers analysis don't work, then some simple scouting should've told the cubs that this guy was cooked. compare his hit chart this year to his hit charts 2-3 years ago. back then he pulled a lot of balls out and showed power to all fields. this year, most of his batted balls are going to the left side and he's not driving anything, which are prime indicators of a loss of bat speed - and that's crippling to a power hitter without much else to offer in terms of speed or fielding ability.

So, what is actually wrong with Felix? 3 for 31 down at Iowa? That's worrisome.

He probably realized the Cubs are stupid and aren't going to give him a decent shot, so he just gave up.

Wasn't the whole point in sending him down to work fulltime on adjusting his swing? I'd assume that'll take some time.

Out the door, ASAP.

I was sort of hoping for some actual discussion. Not this.

Come on, does that post add anything to the discussion?

Since joining the Cubs, Jimmy has an OPS+ of -20. Not, 20, minus-twenty. I'm not sure I've seen an OPS+ that bad.

I think Ryan Harvey might have a better OPS+. We sent Pie down for this? It's time to cut bait.

Where the hell is Murton on the OF depth chart these days? Is he the 11th outfielder?

My summary and theories here on that matter.

Well, we've got the guys on the 25-man (Soriano, Johnson, Fukudome, Edmonds, Hoffpauir, DeRosa. Then you've got Pie and Patterson in AAA. Ward on the DL. So 10th or 11th depending on whether we want to count Cedeno's 5 day trial run practicing CF before Lou got distracted by a blue car that drove by. That or counting any decroded piece of crap that's unsigned who can come in to play instead of Murton.

Petition to rename it OPS- in Edmonds' case.

If he truly has that attitude, and I doubt highly he does, then he doesn't deserve a shot. He should be more hungry and motivated right now than anyone. He should have a huge, unquenchable chip and a desire to prove Hendry and Piniella wrong, to rub it in their face even.

You're right. Everyone should react the same way to all circumstances and if they don't, screw them.

And for those wondering, here is Jimmy Half-shirt's line since joining the Cubs: 150/190/150.

Now, I know Pie had his struggles, but here was Pie's line: 222/286/286.

It's time to cut bait here. We all hate Edmonds. Now even moreso because he's worthless.
