I'd take Hill over Bedard at this point, but that's me.

I figure Bedard is a bit better talent-wise, but Bedard's injury history compared to Hill's, along with the fact that Hill will be cheaper for longer, tips the scales towards Hill, imo.

As for Colvin, I'm not overly impressed. He and Veal are at the top of my "high risk/high reward" prospect pile for the Cubs. Typically, when you have a guy like that who is at his greatest value, it's smart to sell. Both have glaring flaws which could completely submarine them.

I see the high reward with Veal, but I don't see it with Colvin.

Colvin only has one major flaw, as far as I'm concerned: his lack of walks. The high reward I see in him is if he sticks in CF and if he manages to pull an Alexis Rios/Jose Reyes and starts talking more walks. If that's the case, he has the potential to be an All Star OF.

That said, I don't have much faith in this organization to teach him better patience at the plate.

Other than the high draft pick and contract given to him, I actually think of him as low risk low reward. I think he's a decent bet to make it in the majors, but never be good enough to star.

FYI, I just heard that Hendry will be on Mike North's show tomorrow morning at 9am CT. It would be nice if he had something else to talk about...

He won't, count on it. It'll be the same blah blah, maybe North will be in one of his moods and go off on him.

OH insiders just verified this rumor and confirmed it with at least two sources. Sounds like its a done deal.

I hope you are joking. They've "confirmed it with their sources" about 100 times since this rumor began back in 1959.

It's impossible to tell what is a joke and what's not in this thread at this point.

Bigbird from OH said it's not true.

No (and no means yes)

So now Levine is saying the Cubs and O's are still talking about Robert. I just heard the update on ESPN 1000. They will be talking baseball soon (now Bulls).

So to summarize several more pages the Orioles and Cubs may or may not have agreed to a trade for Roberts, which may or may not be announced this weekend at the Cubs' Convention.

I hate to do this, but a guy on BTF said ESPN 1000 said the Cubs traded for Roberts.

They busted that hours ago, I believe.

No means yes and yes means no? So when did Big Bird leave Sesame Street?
