Take this for what it's worth, folks - but I have word from a Cub player that a blockbuster is about to go down, or is in the works. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with this thread.

I know your joking but it's not helping my sanity.

I'm really being totally serious. But it's still rumor, which is kind of a joke.

BBI is trading down 15% today. But that particular Blockbuster has been going down almost every day for 6 years now.

Excellent point - but I couldn't not add to this incredible thread.

Well Peter Angelos is currently on Capitol Hill at the MLB Steroids thing, so I don't think any trades would occur today.

Unless he signed off on it yesterday.

I would be very disappointed if a trade went down before this thread went to at least 120 pages.

BTW does anyone know why Pie hasn't been playing in the Dominican League lately? It seemed like he was actually putting together a good stretch of games in the playoffs and then all the sudden he didn't show up in any box scores.

Hmmmm...Perhaps a Trade brewing?

This is the only possible explanation! I can't wait!

Hmmmmm, has Marmol continued to pitch? Last I read he was being converted to closer, from setup man, for Licey.

Marmol pitched as recently as Saturday.

Have you been talking to Ryan or Mike? Cause the Bayou Basher isn't a Cub any longer.

I'm here:

To Free IMB!

To see why this thread is so long.

To see if there are any Elvis pictures.

To see if this trade is going to happen or not.

To see if there is anything I missed.

To say that this is ticking me off and I will stop reading this thread until the title changes...

Is that sarcasm, knowledge of something upcoming, or some technicality I'm not noticing? Out of all the strange posts in this thread especially the last 10 pages, this one had me thinking, so I'm just trying to clarify.

This thread just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

Agreed.

I see. That's what was strange about it. When I searched for Bayou Basher, the first thing that popped up was an article or two about Mike Fontenot, and the second reference to Bayou Basher was an article or two about Ryan Theriot. Nowhere on the first two pages of results is a reference to Todd Walker as the Bayou Basher. Since the term seemed to reference two current Cubs, it didn't make sense that he said the Basher was not a Cub anymore without some type of knowledge.

The Bayou Basher is a reference to the nickname that Steve Stone gave Todd Walker when Todd complained about Stone liking other players and giving them nicknames...or something like that.

EDIT: Actually I've got that wrong. Todd was complaining that Chip and Steve didn't have nicknames for the players like Hawk did across town.

Bayou Basher is what Chip called Walker during the infamous broadcasters vs. players war of 2004. Walker apparently complained that Chip and Stone didn't give players nicknames like the Hawk so Chip and Stone came up with one inane nickname after another for an entire broadcast. It was an inside joke.
