Cripes we are trying to make our team better for next year. Other than expendable parts like Marquis, Dempster, Murton, Cedeno, we shouldnt be trading anyone on the projected 25 man.

I think you can add DeRosa, Theriot, Pie, Wuertz, Howry and Eyre to that list.

 

It all depends on what you get back, but you can improve the team this year while at the same time trading any number of projected 25 man roster guys.

Really, trading Hill and Colvin for Roberts and Bedard doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Bedard is about to get very expensive soon. The only way Bedard coming here and it being beneficial is if Z, Lilly, and Hill stay in the rotation.

Not close. They want more than utility guys.

 

Utility guys? 2 potential rotation regulars and a potential starting SS. What the heck do they want? They have to trade for potential. They are rebuilding. I don't mind dipping into the upper echelon on our potential players as long as its not Soto, Pie, Hill or Marmol. Those 4 pieces we need on the 2008 Chicago Cubs.

Teams don't just swap rotational pitchers very often. What's the point? You're getting back what you traded.

 

Look, the Orioles are going nowhere. Even they must be smart enough to see that. If they want to trade solid vets for prospects, then that's one thing. Expecting to swap starters is stupid, and wouldn't likely even help either team anyway.
