  1. But you don't care or pay much attention..... I didn't even think about him till I saw this thread. It took 30 seconds to look up his average. I am not rooting for him or against him. I just thought I would update his stats since nobody had. ^^shrugs^^ you sound like you really lack a sack You know, screw you. You have no idea what I think.

  3. You don't? That is correct, I don't.
  4. you just lovvvveee to see him fail, don't you? Not really. Once he leaves us, I don't care much. That said, if someone is to succeed, I generally root for the ones who are good guys. If DLee leaves, I will actively cheer for him. Bradley, meh, I don't pay much attention one way or another.
  5. Batting .045 after todays game. 1-22
  6. Yeah, there are lots of guys to go off on before Dempster. That was a weird one.
  7. Gorz/Silva as starters and Marshall in the pen has been a very good decsion so far...
  8. Yup, startrs have been very good led by Dempster and Silva. Silva may end up a lifesaver.
  9. He is also batting .059.
  10. It is early, but he has been excellent. Good for Sean.
  11. By pitching well. I suspect they like Marshall in the Pen because of his prior success there and limited success for Marshall as a starter. I also suspect they like another lefty in the pen. Silva has had success as a starter not a reliever. You earn a spot by pitching better than the other options. Marshall easily outperformed him. And we have 3 lefites in the pen now. They gave a ridiculous amount of money to a lefty this offseason. Marshall being a lefty shouldn't have anything to do with it. Oh, and it's arguable if Silva even pitched well this spring. So did everyone else on this board. I don't know why you keep talking about this imaginary group of posters. I don't keep talking about it. You do. You continue to bring him up and ask me about him. You seem obsessed. haha. that is literally the first time i've mentioned hart to you. it seems like your imagination gets the best of you. Well, I mentioned him once. Once. Once. If others want to bring him up, leave me out of it. What is it about this place that makes some so pissy?

I mentioned Hart's name once in another thread once. You continue to bring him up and ask me about him. You seem obsessed. As for Marshall and Silva, e-mail Hendry and leave me alone. I like both guys and would be happy with either. ^^shrugs^^ Go Cubs!
  13. By pitching well. I suspect they like Marshall in the Pen because of his prior success there and limited success for Marshall as a starter. I also suspect they like another lefty in the pen. Silva has had success as a starter not a reliever. As for Hart love, I never experienced it. I always thought he was a marginal guy.
  14. I think most fans are hoping for a guy who can put up 4th or 5th starter stats. That is all I am hoping for. More than that seems unrealistic, though always possible.
  15. And if Silva doesn't pitch well than he will get yanked. I am glad he pitched well in spring training and I think he has earned his shot. That is no different than Colvin earning his shot. Now they have to produce, and I have no idea whether they will do well or not. That is the great thing about sports, they are unpredictable. Go Cubs.
  16. Lugo was just about a free player and the Cardinals traded him. That says it all.
  17. Actually, several here questioned the trades of both Hart and Murton. Selective memory. That said, that was a year ago and I hope we are all wishing success for Silva and Marshall. Go Cubs. As usual, I can't wait for opening day.
  18. lol, you've multiple times mentioned imaginary Kevin Hart-loving NSBBers in a condescending manner the last few days. "Multiple times"? Are you kidding me? One mention of how a number of posters were upset over the Hart and Murton trades at the time. They were very marginal players. As condescending as some posters here can be, I am shocked that thought even gets noticed here. People need to chill man. NO ONE was upset over Kevin Hart or thought he was super, that's the point. The fact that you've mentioned these imaginary people several times in the last week in some "I can't believe these people thought that way" fashion is not only hilarious, but makes your "why can't we talk about baseball without making it about the posters" appeal hypocritical to say the least. You just want to fight don't you? Sorry, I refuse to bite. I am happy Sliva is pitching well and looking forward to a good season.
  19. With Wuertz and Gaudin gone, Lou had to find a new pitcher to hate. I actually think it is the opposite, Lou likes him too much as a reliever to put him in the rotation. As soon as Guzman went down I had the suspicion that Marshall would go to the pen so they would have another guy out there with a track record of success in relief. Because he has shown he can get lefties and righties out I wouldn't be surprised to see Lou use him as the main 8th inning set up man to Marmol. Caridad had a nice run last year but I don't see Lou as being confident enough to count on him in that role just yet. well said. Good luck to both Silva and Gorz.
  20. What did he do to earn a spot in the rotation over Marshall? I suspect that the Cubs are looking at the fact that Marshall has been more effective the last few years out of the pen rather than starting and Silva's history is more of a starter. That said, I would have had no problems with Marshall starting, I love the kid. Hell, if the Cubs thought Silva was a poor pitcher, I would have no problem with them releasing him. Those guys who get paid to make those decisions know a lot more about baseball than I do. I am just happy both had a fine spring training. It is a long season---if somebody struggles, others will get the chance to step in. I make no predictions that Silva will be a long-term solution, I am just happy maybe we saved 5 mil out of the Bradley trade and there is a chance Silva can be useful.

  22. Because you consistently make up these ridiculous scenarios that paint you as the lone voice of reason (blargh) in a sea of people going nuts over mediocre or worse players. Please link us to posts where people said they're unhappy over Silva's spring or they would be unhappy if he pitches well in the regular season. The closest you'll find are people worried that a decent spring from him means he'll get more pitching appearances than he should during the regular season even if he ends up tanking, which is unfortunately not an unrealistic scenario. Silva has been the whipping boy here ever since we got him. Heck, in the Silva/Gorz are the 4th and 5th guy thread, one poster said Silva made him "throw up in his mouth" and another said "silva is garbage". He is now a Cub and I am happy he is doing well. He has earned a shot and I still don't understand why some have to be so pissy about it. ^^shrugs^^ By the way, please point me to one "ridiculous scenerio" I have made up let alone 'consistently". Hell, not sure I have made 10 posts in the last 6 months here. Lord, folks, just chill and enjoy the fact that a guy most thought would suck hasn't to this point. Why are some wound so freakin tight over Silva?
  23. ok, "star" was an exageration :) . But I was pummeled everytime I posted Murton's stats or Hart's stats. Both those guys had their fans here--that is ok. I just wasn't one of those fans. Why are some here so pissy all the time? Let's enjoy discussing Cub baseball.
  24. You got the wrong guy. I was fine with Hart being traded. Decent fastball and marginal major league pitcher. I was actually critical of those who thought he was better than he was. Same with Murton. In fact, posters here got mad at me for posting the disappointing stats of Hart and Murton after he got traded. The samre thing happened with Choi. I have no idea if Silva will be serviceable or better. I am happy he had a good spring training and think he has earned a shot. ^^shrugs^^ I do have a question though. Why are some fans here so pissy all the time? Why can't we discuss the Cubs without all the sarcasm and criticism of posters?
