  1. Much better today as far as velocity. Goosed it up to 94 and 95 a few times. Command was poor, but he had better stuff than last time.
  2. Yes. Now that I told you that, don't yell at me! huh, why would I yell at you? lol am i unaware about something.. I am a mod there which means half the people love me, and half hate me. :) lol, oh wow I didnt even know you were a mod. Just have seen you posting there for awhile, Ive been around since like February of the year Scheyer committed to Duke. I think I led to a string of recruiting losses because right after that was Brandon Rush.. and well the list need not go on. I thought the problem was Weber, but it is really you! I will revoke your posting rights immediately!

  5. Ryan Braun: "They're probably drinking champagne and having in a beer shower right now in our locker room while we sulk about what happened here," said Braun. "It's ironic, where we're at as a team and how we feel at the end of this series and see them celebrating a no-hitter on our field. "The way things are going, it doesn't surprise me. It's almost fitting."
  6. I haven't read or seen that anywhere. The last we had in this thread was the blog entry from WGN saying they were waiting on word from MLB and ESPN. I sure hope you're right... Thanks. I hadn't seen that blog. I just saw the Cubs MLB website which showed it as WGN TV.
  7. I am always optimistic. Life is better that way.
  8. Hasn't it aready been announced on WGN TV? What am I missing?
  9. Player's union is involved. Houston players have called in the union and don't want to go to Milwaukee. Anytime a union is involved, options are eliminated and it gets complicated.
  10. Personally, I would like to give Lee some rest. He never sits out. He has 2 days now, I would sit him out a couple more, esp if they are righthanders we face.
  11. It's a bit overboard to claim he's not the same pitcher. This is the what Harden has to do to keep pitching. Dial it back at times, get some extra rest, leave games early. He did it before coming to the Cubs and he's been doing it since joining the Cubs. Thanks for the link. Good points.
  12. That is a good point. He made that comment ealier this year when he was still humping up that fastball to 96 and regularly throwing 93. Now he isn't doing it even when in a jam. I hope that he still can--and does occassionally in the play-offs. I am a big fan of power arms in the play-offs. They usually win. Time will tell.
  13. actually I think that is an overreation. I think there is a reasonable chance that Harden can get his velocity back. Even if he doesn't, he can still be a quality pitcher. I am very optimistic of the Cub's chances in the play-offs. LOL at this guy taking the above post seriously I am actually laughing at you for not appreciating MY sarcasm. I make a post that Harden's velocity is obviously down for 2 straight games, and suddenly I am proclaiming doom and gloom. I am the last guy to do that. I am the eternal optimist.
  14. Thanks, I appreciate the serious response.

  16. No need to be an arsehole.
  17. It's fine to voice concerns about his velocity, but you're jumping to conclusions with the "he isn't the same pitcher" type stuff. It's been pretty well documented that Harden's velocity varies from start to start and it will sometimes drop duringthe seeason. Hell, it's happened before this with the Cubs, and then it comes back. Let's wait and see his next few starts before we start flipping out. I never "flipped out". True, but to say he "isn't the same pitcher" despite making his first start SINCE AUGUST 29TH, or 2 weeks ago, reeks of slight panic.....I expect Harden to be back in the 92-95 range next start out. If the lack of velocity is prolonged, that's one thing (one start doesn't make it prolonged), but right now, to suggest he isn't a "the same pitcher" is trying to get a rise out of people. well, you read me wrong--I don't "reek of slight panic" and really don't care whether anybody responds. Shrugs.
  18. and I know Woody hit 95 tonnight, maybe 96.
  19. I know Marmol hit 95. My only point is this was the second straight game where his velocity on his ave fastball and his good fastball were down. That's all. I am not in a panic and I am not a bitcher and moaner. He has been spotting the ball a lot more the last 2 games rather than throwing it by people. Today, when he threw 93, it was a sailing very high fastball. I never said his dropped velocity was permanent. I hope it is something that will come back.

  21. But the quiet Canadian did not blow hitters away, rarely reaching back for one of the mid-90s fastballs he was throwing with ease in the stretch in which he struck out 70 in 49 innings. His fastball was in the high 80s so much that one scout said he looked like a guy trying to work himself into shape in a spring training game.
  22. Only Lou knows that. Nobody here has any idea.
  23. The gun had virtually all his fastballs from 88-90. I just watched the game. If he threw a 93, it was a rare one. Not panicking, just saying he has clearly lost the zip off his fastball. I hope he gets it back--it makes him that much better.
  24. What is so confusing? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-080911-rich-harden-chicago-cubs,0,7701335.column
