Illinois looked like a defensive juggernaut last night. Even without Shaun Pruitt till the 2nd half the Illini only gave up 39 points total.

Yeah, our defense worries me. You need it big time when your offense is having a tough night.

Isn't that what they are supposed to do against a DII team? I don't know how you can take anythign from a game against a DII team. I mean they are a DII team. Not saying U of I won't be good, but they were playing a DII team.

Notre Dame plays its second exhibition tonight against St. Edward's, having beaten St. Ambrose 109-53 in the first one. Tonight's is especially interesting because Mike Brey said that Luke Harangody, who strained a ligament in his thumb and was expected to be out another week or so at least, will suit up and play tonight.

Ball State opens up at home against Butler on Friday. Should be a pretty exciting atmosphere at least - the game Butler came here for two years ago was the most raucuous I've ever seen it for a BSU game. They'll probably kill us but I'm excited to see the young kids play.

Exactly my point :D

Ha ha, touche. That's good stuff. So it begins...

Ha, glad you liked it, I was hoping some people would see the humor/sarcasm in that.

I know. I was mocking you in return for you mocking me.

Illinois brought back it's whole team it should be good defensively. The better be good on D, because they can't score worth a crap.

Just to change the subject.....

USC is gonna be a real good team this year. The PAC10 is amazing this year, and OJ Mayo is the truth. I think USC can be a final 4 team.

Did you know OJ Mayo punched his own USC teammate in the jaw at a pickup game a month ago? It's true. Daniel Hackett is living life like IMB! right now because of it and USC will be missing their starting point guard for about another month.

We’ll see. I doubt they’ll be better than last year; they lost a lot (Nick Young, Gabe Pruitt). I’m dubious about O.J. Mayo, too. He’s talented, no doubt, but is he really going to help them win? Specifically, against good teams? They are well-coached (shut your ears, Bulls fans).

Yes, this.

BTW, Lute Olson took a leave of absence from the Wildcats for personal reasons though the Arizona AD said it wasn't for health reasons.

Thanks Mayo. Whatever makes SIU's job that much easier when we (hopefully) take on USC in the final of our Thanksgiving tournament.

Yea I was hoping you knew I was joking and not trying to be an ass. You are right, U of I will live and die with D, and they really need Pruit to be the talented big man that he is, and dominate. IF Brian Randle can tap into his potential on offense and stay healthy(big if I know) the Illini wont be too bad, and could give alot of teams fits. I dont look for anything spectacular from this season, but I dont think it will be a terrible season either.

UK is a hell of a comeback away from beating Gardner-Webb at home. If they end up losing, it'll be the worst home loss I can remember. They've been outplayed, outhustled, and outmuscled.

Unlike Ohio State's and Michigan State's losses, this Kentucky loss counts.

Wow, wish I had ESPNU to see that one. GW was 9-21 in the mighty Atlantic Sun last year too. I don't remember a ranked team getting blown out at home vs a team like that.

Eh, I've heard it reported as an errant elbow as well. Who knows what really happened.

Still recovering from '05.

Not too surprising, I think he got hacked too during that comeback.

It's college basketball's equivalent of Appalachian State over Michigan.

That's what the media is reporting but I've heard that it was a punch and Floyd wants it hushed up.
