I think Kirk could be the difference between the Bulls being a championship team w/ Kobe or not. Hinrich's defense is pretty valuable. Kobe coming in would take him off the big guards and make him that much better on D.

Also, if Gordon is not involved, I think he can play a decent point. Heck, he'd be as good at the point (ball handling wise) than BJ Armstrong, John Paxson, Steve Kerr, or Craig Hodges, but a much better scorer/creator. I know Pippen took some of the ball handling load off those guys, but Kobe can do that. It's not like the ball will be taken from Gordon in the backcourt or anything.

But again, Gordon doesn't measure up defensively.

I still think there's a chance this is all speculation and the actual power players are sitting around watching TV or something.

Ding Dongs. They're watching TV eating Ding Dongs, laughing at us.

Ric Bucher was on ESPN talking about the trade. Here is what he said:

NOW Kirk isn't in latest iteration, but his source at one of the 3 teams said that deal currently NOT agreed upon.

Also he said Gordon is in new (currently not agreed-up deal), but also that Wallace could be.

Me likey.

OH MAN ME TOO

Kirk is not a deal breaker by any means, but I love him.

He is, as you said, underrated, impossible to replace this season and to top it off, I'd have to get a new photobucket account name.

Most of this stuff is coming from the Score. Not saying none of it is true, but people need to remember -- this station has an absolutely abysmal record of accuracy. Abysmal.

If we're making up trade scenarios (like RealGM seems to be), toss Wallace, Duhon, Gordon and Noah to whatever teams want them, and call it a trade.

how can anyone say that they don't want the kobe trade to happen?

the bulls are a good team, they are just a good team. they are a playoff caliber team that could make the finals and then lose badly to whoever they play there.

they are the same team as last year and they aren't getting much better.

They could get worse if the Lakers get our entire roster for Kobe. I agree they aren't likely to make a huge leap as they are, but 2nd round playoffs is better than no playoffs or a one-and-done scenario.

And if there's no team around Kobe, I could very easily envision a scenario developing where Kobe is hating life, making everyone else miserable, and the team is winning in the neighborhood of 35 games. If that happened then we just gave up the farm for a nightmare.

The trade has to be the right trade, or I'd rather it not happen at all.

Some of these people on RealGM are absolute homers.

Pax has made it clear he won't gut the team for anybody. I wouldn't worry about giving up too much in any trade.

Plus Kobe will veto the trade if we give up to much.

I think he'll be traded to Chicago today.

Magic Johnson said this won't happen because he needs to get Deng in any deal.

Again, he probably just used that for leverage. Kobe has made it clear that he does not want Deng in any trade.

Thank god the deal involving the Lakers receiving Artest and Wallace in return is dead. That would be HORRIBLE.

Sorry if this is repeating, but ESPN just said the proposed though not approved deal is as follows:

Bulls get Kobe

Bulls trade Gordon, PJ Brown, and Ben Wallace

Kings get Gordon and PJ Brown

Kings trade Ron Artest

Lakers get Artest and Wallace

Lakers trade Kobe

Anyone else hear this?

Do you think there really is a chance that the deal gets done today?

Based on everything I've heard from the Lakers, yes I do. It seems quite clear that they are ready to move on without Kobe. I doubt they let him stick around for another month and a half.

Trade rumors involving Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant coming to the Bulls just won't go away. In fact, they are getting hotter and heavier by the minute.

The latest, as reported by WSCR 670-AM, has Bryant coming to the Bulls as part of a three-way deal involving the Sacramento Kings.

Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich and Kings forward Ron Artest, a former Bulls, could wind up in Los Angeles.

The rumor was also being discussed on WMVP 1000-AM.

A Bulls source denied any deal was imminent.
