I can live without Gordon. Yeah, he shot us back into the game in the 3rd, but overall he was 8 for 28 or something and totally blew the end of the game

The end of that game shows why the Bulls need Kobe or some other "star" player to take over at the end of games. We've got a ton of great young role players. We need a go-to guy.

cliched maybe, but we don't really have a go-to guy in those situations. Deng is great, but doesn't have the ego to demand the final shot. Gordon has the ego but doesn't have the accuracy.

The lack of inside presence last night was maddening on both ends of the court. The amount of points in the paint for the Nets had to be way higher than the Bulls. When your entire team relies on 12+ foot jump shots to score, you're bound to shoot yourself out of games

I really don't want to trade Deng. Gordon yes. Oh, and I really want to get Aldrigde back.

imagine how awesome their front court will be if oden comes back full strength.

And if they yield a top 5 pick and get either EJ, Pooh, or OJ Mayo.

aldridge for thomas is reeking of brand for chandler

No it's not.

thanks for the insight

Brand had already come off of back-to-back 20 ppg/10rpg seasons at ages 20 and 21. He was very clearly an all-star in the making. He was a former number one overall pick who should have been the franchise cornerstone for years to come.

LaMarcus Aldridge was a 21 year old who was just coming out of college where he didn't have as good a career as Brand's at Duke let alone an impressive NBA pedigree already. His rookie year he put up 9 ppg/5 rpg/ 1 bpg (Brand's a year younger: 20/10/1). Tyrus Thomas, a year younger than Aldridge with significantly less playing time (10 minutes less per game) and much further down the ladder, as an offensive option averaged 5/4/1. Tyson Chandler was an unproven high school student. It was obviously a salary issue as well as Krause buying his career some time by falling back on the youth excuse.

It is a bad comparison on so many levels that I didn't think I needed to expound. Apparently I did.

If only somebody could've seen Aldridge as a better pick than Thomas before the draft...

Wasn't Aldridge pretty injury prone in college? Texas really dominated OU while he was there, so I pretty much blacked out most of what happened in those years.

Only played 2 years. Missed half his freshman year with a hip injury.

I did. I wanted Aldridge in the worst way possible.

Yeah, I was just being a jerk because I rabidly endorsed Aldridge while being mildly anti-Thomas from the time the tourney ended through the draft. I'm sure some people from the Draft thread can vouch for my madness.

Mark_R was a huge Aldridge guy too, right?

I guess Pax said the deal is dead.

http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=68887

The local beat writers are running with that. All he said was that nothing was happening "for now."

In fact, I think the Trib article even left that part out.

This is just Pax's way of trying to quell some of the speculation/rumors. I guarantee that talks are ongoing.

LA wants to rid themselves of this problem. The entire front office is unanimous in that.

Obviously, just like Bernsie said, some real info got out. That's what Pax is peeved about. If it were really fiction, he wouldn't care. How many rumors aren't there out there that are totally false and never get commented on? Something true was leaked and obviously they weren't happy about it. That's why Pax came out and said what he did. I also think it's a little bit of playing hardball with LA through the media.

I don't believe for one second that negotiations are dead.

People think the owner should throw out money like its nothing. But that's not the reality in our business.

"In this case, if you've got to give up so much to get one player, that's something I'm not going to do."

Translation for Bulls fans = We are content with making the playoffs and losing in the 2nd round again, so deal with it.
