The fact that the Cubs were so outplayed by a bunch of no-names should tell us that player development in this franchise, for lack of a better word, sucks.

I swear, White Sox fans care more about the Cubs losing than us.

I was at a bar and almost threw a bottle at one. I really soap droppin' hate every one of them and hope that team is in the basement for the next 10 years.

i've never seem a team crap the bed like this one.

How about the Mets last week?

if i knew this week that the cubs were going to play like the mets did last week, i would've been happier if they didn't make the playoffs.

At least the Mets have won a World Series in my lifetime. I'd be able to swallow a collapse like that. I wouldn't like it, but at least I could deal with it.

Someone should take the bats from the dugout outside and let the fans go to work on the players' cars. The players sure as hell didn't use them, so at least the fans could.

I've never seen a bigger bunch of gutless wonders. They should all be ashamed of themselves. Lee, Ramirez and Soriano are all huge wastes of money.

If this is all the effort they're going to put forward in the postseason, I'd rather trade away the high-priced losers, put in the entire AAA lineup, and lose 95 games again. At least they'd show more heart than these bums have.

I'm not opposed to this. Too bad most of the big contracts the fool gave out can't be traded. At least if we lose 99 games or so we are bound to draft high and finally come up with a superstar.

Meh. I'm not as upset as I thought I'd be. I'm pissed on some level, but I still say that after game two I have never been more pissed than that in my entire life. I knew tonight was going to happen like this -- as much as I tried to tell myself otherwise -- so it doesn't really shock me and I'm not as upset as you think I'd be.

Whatever, I'll enjoy the time off this winter. I'm going to try to stay away from the Cubs in every facet until after the playoffs when I can start to cool off. Then I can come back with a level headed approach to how I'm going to make myself believe next year will be any different.

i've never seem a team crap the bed like this one. the offense left their bats at home (excluding SOTO, of course). grounded into 4 double plays this evening...millions left of base...trillions of strikeouts. just absolutely pathetic on all counts. i've seen the cubs suck before, but i had no idea they would suck this much especially in the playoffs. i know this team had their faults coming into this series, but i'm just dumbfounded by all of this. no fight whatsoever.

The word "dumbfounded" tells all.

Oh, and also a perk from tonight:

I met Mark_R, CT, and Vance!

Hooray NSBB. Oh, and incase any of you wondered; Mark is hilarious drunk.

I met him sober, and I sorta figured he'd be hilarious drunk.

I am really not looking forward to rooting for this roster next year. I've lost a lot of respect for our "big three" and I'm pissed off at the amount of time and emotion that I've invested in this team this season.

I didn't feel this way after game seven in '03. I was sad and disappointed...I loved the team that year and I wanted them to win. I looked forward to '04. This team I'm just pissed at. I don't want to root for these losers next season, but we're stuck with all of them for a long time.

They were too content with just winning the division, apparently.

I napped and assembled a bookcase.

I feel better now.

I slept for about 12 hours; I feel much better. In a kind of disconnected from my feelings for this team type of way. I know I should be really pissed right now; but I'm not. I'm just laid back and at the moment I don't care a whole lot. But, I have a feeling this is going to be a LONG winter.

Damn you Derrek Lee, Aramis Ramirez and Soriano for having 3 bad games!

You lost respect for them because they had a bad series? You act like they went out there and tried to have a terrible series, give me a break. They were trying and didnt get it done, its happened quite a bit during the season. This offense was streaky as hell. To say you lost respect for them is ignorant.

i can't believe every team didn't pitch the Cubs the way the D-Backs did. nibble on the outside, throw junk, watch the power bats look like asses, PROFIT!

Credit their scouting, what puzzles me is the Cubs scouting wasn't able to observe or figure out Chris Young can't hit a breaking ball. Hell, from game 2 alone they should have able to determine he can't hit a breaking ball. After the 3R HR, didn't Hart or Marmol make him look pathetic with sliders? So, with the results of game 2 in hand, how do you start him off in game 3? With a FB of course!!!!!

Holy crap, I dont' remember any of this... (I remember talking to Roast on the phone)

The only part I remember is getting a girl's number at Slugger's for an interview for a job.

I met you outside the bar and you may or may not have tried to sneak me and two of my friends in (to no avail, obviously).

And you, sir, were sloshed

I forgot you aren't 21 yet - I was wondering how you met all those people without ever meeting me. No one told me you were out there or I may have been able to sneak you in the same way I snuck CT in. Had Mark been aware enough to realize I had accomplished this, he may have thought to enlist my help, but oh well. It's too bad too, it would have been cool to hang out. At least until the game started, anyway.
