I'm almost as much an LSU fan this week as I am a Tennessee fan.

 

If LSU can beat Florida and Tennessee beats Georgia, the Vols control their own destiny again.

I can't wait for that Illinois-Wisconsin game. Wisconsin's defense has looked very suspect this year. Hopefully Mendenhall will be able to tear up their front 7. And hopefully Juice decides to wake up (please play McGee, Zook).

 

SIU faces their first I-AA challenge this season for our homecoming game against Youngstown State. Should be a fun one.

 

And NIU faces Temple in the Toilet Bowl Game of the Week. NIU actually has a chance to win a game :shock:

Granted the game's in Columbia, but you're ranked higher, I don't think it could be called an upset.

funny story - I watched the game at a friend's apartment near downtown b/c they have cable through D&E (which has the B10 network). A guy was there who said that his girlfriend TA'ed Morelli his sophomore year, and she said that it seemed like he struggled to put any sentence together that was more complicated than "Hi my name is Anthony Morelli." I've now heard from multiple people that he is a moron, and given his decision-making on the field, it's not hard to believe.

Man, Saturday night is going to be insane. Upwards of 70,000 people there, arguably the biggest game in Gary Pinkel's career, Gold Rush (which I'm sure will suck because half of our fans are morons), ESPN, it should be nuts.

Huge game for both teams. I still think KU will win, despite the fact you guys put Texas in a clownsuit. It's gonna come down to our O-Line, Reesing's poise, and the ability to pressure freeman.

I think K-State wins for the following reasons,

 

1. Home Field Advantage - Kansas State. No Mark Mangino's coached team has faired well on Big XII conference play, especially when it comes to the road. KU is 2-18 in Big XII road games under Mangino, and never fared better than 3-5 in conference play. Some of KU's manageable conference games: Texas A&M, OSU, Kansas State, and Colorado are on the road.

 

2. I think K-State is more prepared than Kansas is, considering if you look at their opponents. K-State faced two quality teams at the road in Auburn and Texas. Auburn isn't good, I'll admit that, but they did beat Florida at their house. KU however, has scheduled schools who I think aren't quality teams, even though I hear that Toledo lost to Miami by 14 and all that. Get real, Miami isn't worth a darn this year.

 

And finally, Kansas haven't converted an extra point in Manhattan since 1997. What makes you think they will win in Manhattan?

Did you see how many tipped passes there were last week vs Texas? I loved listening to Ron Prince talk about d-lineman getting their hands up. Reesing can run, but with 4 LB and a pretty good secondary (Watts didn't even play vs Texas, and J. Moore hasn't played YET this year), we have the run covered. Reesing will be forced to pass, and I guarantee there will be enough pressure and he goes down a LOT. I'll predict he's out of the game and Meier is in by the 3rd. Reesing has also never played on the road. Let alone in front of the loudest 50,000 fans in college football. Our D is FAST, and played without our 2 best in the secondary vs Texas. Reesing is shorter than Colt, so I expect our line to make a difference. KU has played NO ONE all year. We've played at Auburn (had the game won for 55 mins), and at UT, and you see how that played out. I love Prince and our game plans thus far. HINT: You haven't even seen the deep passing game yet. It's coming! Talib vs Jordy will be a good matchup, but watch for us to exploit you deeeeeep with Deon Murphy this weekend. My prediction, because it's in Manhattan: KSU 35 KU 14. Return to dominance Cats over KU. I'll come back and eat crow if I'm wrong. Oh by the way, I haven't even mentioned our 6'4-6'5 265 QB yet. He's a sophomore.
