I miss Soto already.

Soto has a Cardinals jersey with the name Molina on the back of it. He's starting in Milwaukee tonight. Cards will win 29 to -6.

I loathe the fact that Lou is doing the Dusty RLR thing.

I loathe the fact that people still mock the practice. It's good lineup construction (although admittedly less so in September when teams have 9 pitchers in the bullpen).

Explain how it is a good practice to possibly cost Ramirez one at bat a game by pushing him down in the order. He is our best hitter. He should be batting 3rd or 4th.

Why not 1st?

How do you feel about 3 righties at the top?

Ok, sure. I understand the lefty righty thing, but I don't see its value when there is such a large gap between two of the guys and you are pushing one of the more talented hitters on the team down a spot. I would prefer more Ramirez at bats as opposed to Floyd.

I cannot bear to watch, listen, or check in. I will wait until tomorrow to find the score.

Maybe

I can't bear not to. I will be living and dying with every pitch until this thing is over. Will I be watching a train wreck? Only time will tell.

If I was putting together the lineup for tonight with those 8 players:

Soriano

Floyd

Lee

Ramirez

Derosa

Jones

Kendall

Theriot

Marquis.

Kendall at the 2, Floyd at 5, DeRosa at 6, Jones at 7, imo.

Not a fan of Floyd batting cleanup.

huh funny how soto was good enough to hit in the 6-hole but kendall is always batting #8. That experience must be worth a hell of a lot to keep getting his anemic bat in the lineup.

eff you lou.

what, you're saying you think the cleanup hitter should have a higher SLG than .419? crazy talk.

Kendall has been on the bench too long (like Floyd) but before that Kendall has been cold.

Then DeRosa at the 2 spot. Bat Floyd 5th. :)

You do realize that Kendall's little hot streak is long gone, don't you? He's hitting .232/.328/.286 over the last 28 days, .204/.304/.265 in September. He's a terrible option in the 2 hole.

It's good lineup construction when the 2 hitters are somewhat close in ability. Ramirez is clearly better than Floyd, and any advantage you gain from going RLR is mitigated by having Ramirez possibly miss the chance of having another AB. It's not like hitting Floyd fifth prevents the lineup from going RLR. I really don't get it.

Does it really matter? If we make the playoffs do any of you honestly expect us to win a series?

Considering their record against the NL competition, I would not expect it. But there's no stud team out there that would be impossible to beat either.

If I were sitting around, being a Cub. I would go, "hmmmm......think I should win tonight."

"It might be a really bad idea to lose, tonight."

"Oh hell yeah. I should definitely win....tonight."
