I personally thought it was a strike.

I just looked at it with Tivo. It was definitely over the plate, the only question was whether or not it was high enough. Looked right at the knees to me.

The pitch was outside.

Ramirez is tossed. He's the only guy hitting for us now. We're boned.

Yeah, he's been outstanding so far today.

Yeah 1 for 3 with a walk while working the count well. He sucks, let's DFA him.

well at least mil and stl are winning

Sweeping no less.

Picked a bad time to suck against a crap team, COBS.

That was the same pitch he called a strike earlier in the count.

Yeah, I was kind of surprised he argued it.

hes probably just sick of a pitch that isnt a strike being called a strike.

St. Albert wouldn't have said a word. He wouldn't have broken his helmet either. Would've taken it off signed it and given it to orphans. Orphans with diseases.

I'm not insinuating that at all. I'm just saying (as has been pointed out), it was already called a strike earlier in the at-bat... why would he take the pitch?

In some good news, Wood hit 96.

Wasn't there talk of the gun being fast today? I remember earlier in the thread someone pointing out the 94 reading for Hill, which he doesn't seem to ever reach.

i think that ab was more about the teams collective offensive frustration. as much as all of us get angry i think it may nag at them just as bad and i lost it the second i called that a strike. rami isn't one to normally lose it and i think he was more mad at the lack of offensive productivity.. maybe that'll put a fire under 'em..

Not by much. Aramis needed to protect the plate there. It was certainly closer to a strike than the other pitch earlier in that AB that was outside and high.

If it was outside it was off the plate by half an inch.

It broke back over the plate in my opinion.

Obviously we're not going to convince one another, so lets just drop it.

Potentially, but his fastball looks pretty good today. I think he could recover well enough to be effective.

You didn't ask why he'd take the pitch, you asked why he'd argue, what the hell do you expect? It's a pitch he's had called on him a few times today(not that exact one, I thought the others were further outside) and he hasn't agreed with it all day, when it winds up being a called 3rd on you in a key situation, what else is he gonna do?? And if by argue you mean say 3 words to him, then yes he argued. It was a quick unnecessary tossing.

They can light as many fires as they want. Not going to change the fact that we just aren't a very good offense.

Because it was a ball. Aram doesnt argue EVER, Ill tend to believe him on if it was a strike over you or the jackass behind the plate

Agreed its not like his mouth was going when he slammed his helmet. He slammed his helmet and wasnt even talking, then turns says something and the ump kicks him out.BS
