    I'm not a fan - I didn't like the way he managed the DiamondBacks in their 2001 playoff run. I think Alan Trammell is going to be the leading candidate when Lou is done. is that the overall feeling?? i guess it's a two part question.. who did people prefer?? who will they prefer (obviously depending on who's available)??

    i'm bored, and i have a question... i wasn't around here yet last year when the manager talk was going on.. and i don't know how long piniella's contract is but what if he were to say manage this year and next, and left.. what is the consensus on bob brenly taking the job??? i don't need an exhaustive debate, but i was just curious what the overall feeling is.. listening to him on the 'damn yankees' game.. that's what prompted the thought btw...

    Drinking to take the edge off. Beginning the journey to Chicago!! Enjoy the game, everyone! Just because I might cry like a little girl if the Cubs do what I expect them to, I'll predict a 7-1 Cubs victory tonight. Lilly is awesome, and Kerry Wood makes an appearance and shuts them down for two innings. See you guys this weekend. are you leaving already?? tell me you're not driving from california...

    any strikeout with first base occupied is a strikeout and you can not reach first i believe, if you could, it would punish the team for having someone first, as the catcher could just let one go and force you into a double play.. IIRC Announcers on TBS just clarified that the catcher does indeed have to throw to first in the situation with two outs. I guess the rationale is that the double play is not in order. so.... is the situation that the guy on first can advance if he chooses too, as well as the guy at the plate and either can be thrown out for choosing to run (obviously the guy at the plate is out if he chooses not to, as he struck out)?

    i've avoided this place ALL DAY.. (in caps because it has been the longest day since..... well, yesterday) I am so psyched.. i really think we will play a hell of a game tonight.. last night was strange.. i feel like had z had a mediocre outing and given up 5/6 and the final was 6-1, we'd be more optimistic than most of us are.. we really thought we could steal one last night.. oh well, we didn't, move on... GO CUBS....
