Oh I wasn't referring to the comment about Hill. He's not the Cubs best pitcher.

ok.

but he is.

Yeah, definitely... aside from the fact that he's not. But whatever, I'm not getting into this.

Can you back it up? The stats are against you and I'm interested in hearing why you think someone else has pitched better than Hill so far.

I didn't say that Hill doesn't have the best ERA+ in the first five months of the season, I said he's not the Cubs best starter. There's quite a difference there.

i'd love to hear the difference.

What does it matter? Rich Hill is God's gift to baseball as far as you're concerned. Nothing I say is ever going to make you even consider for one second that he might not be the best pitcher in baseball history.

Can you honestly say that in Game 7 of the World Series, of all the Cubs starters you'd feel most comfortable with Hill?

Why isn't he the best Cubs starter this season if, amongst other stats, his ERA+ is the best on the team? And ERA+ is probably one of the best ways to judge a starting pitcher.

Yes, I'd be as comfortable as I possibly could be with Hill starting game 7 (I think I'd be nervous as hell no matter who was starting - 1991 Greg Maddux or Kevin Foster).

cubs hit two balls hard that inning and they resulted in three outs. one poorly-hit ball resulted in two runs for the brewers. luck does play a role in the short term.

Hitting a batter and that batter scoring is not luck.

ive been telling and posting about how DLee and Aram have looked completely useless for the past month.

neither of them are doing ANYTHING, Soriano has been a bust.

We just suck.

I bet if Marquis had the same performance as Hill tonight your tone would be different...

Indeed. But lack of offense makes a 2 run lead seem insurmoutable. Meanwhile other teams erase such deficits with a flick of a finger.

Johny Estrada pops out to second base. One out.

Ron says the wind isn't even blowing out.

Maybe we are just saving all of our offense up for a September run. This is brutal.

IF that is true, we should average double-digit runs in the month of September then, cause we have been saving up ALOT of offense.

And yet we are in first place! It does feel like 04.

Come on man, Hill has the best stats and you're saying he isn't their best pitcher and your defense are red herrings?

Doubt it. I only defended Marquis so hard because you were completely irrational when slamming him. I don't have any weird love for Marquis or anything, I'm indifferent towards him.

Yea, it's called homeruns.
