what the heck kind of goofy trade was that for Boston? Ray Allen for the no. 5? Whoa

Was it Allen straight up for the #5?

Or was Theo Ratliff somehow involved?

I know Delonte West is going to Seattle and there was one other player but I don't remember who it was.

Wally Szczerbiak.

Thanks.

OK, I'm confused. Seattle would use the #5 in that trade scenario to pick Jeff Green? They're going to take two SF's in the top 5? They must think Durant is going to be a 4.

That'd be awful, Durant would just get abused. Play him at the 3 and watch him take off.

Yeah. At this point, Durant will get killed at PF. Maybe in a few years when he bulks up he can play there but not right now. And even then it's a maybe. He's a SF.

Conley 4?

Yeah, top 4 seemed pretty obvious. Now is where it gets interesting...

Man the NBA Draft goes so much quicker than the NFL draft.

It's so nice also. Plus then the analysts aren't stretching everything out and grasping for things to say (which generally ends up with a bunch of useless, boring information). They have, at most, 3 minutes to talk about the player since Stuart Scott interviews them for a minute or two.

I like Horford better than Conley, but Conley seemed like a better pick for Atlanta.

I'm not saying I agree with it. Maybe they think he can play the 2, as was alluded to earlier. But Durant should be a 3, which is clearly Jeff Green's position. Green is also not clearly the fifth best player in the draft, so I certainly wouldn't pick him at #5 if I was Seattle.

Agreed. Its a good thing when something lessens the amount of talk from the ESPN talking heads

Not sure I'd rate Horford ahead of Conley - Conley has a much higher ceiling and has elite PG potential. Horford is the safest pick in this draft after Durant, though. If I were Atlanta, I'd have taken Conley.

I personally think this is correct. But Atlanta does have tradeable assets to get a PG, plus the #11.

Awful pick for Seattle, even before you think of Durant being on board and playing the same position.

Good for the Bulls, though.

Yeah, they'll probably end up taking Acie Law.

Or Crittenton or whatever that guy's name is.

Yeah, I guess the liking Horford stance comes from a Bulls perspective. I'd rather have Horford because he is ready to step in and seems like a sure thing to become at least a good starter in the NBA. But I agree, Conley's ceiling is probably higher.

I like Green a lot, however, if he's going to Seattle I'm still unsure how he fits with Durant. Also, I don't think Green is the fifth best player in the draft.

Honestly, I think the talent from 5 to the middle of the first round is fairly clustered together. I don't think very much separates someone like Jeff Green from Thaddeus Young, you know?
