Wright strikes me as lazy and Brewer strikes me as a bust.

Why do you think Corey Brewer will be a bust?

Aside from being athletic, does he strike you as being a great offensive player? He's not a great shooter, he's not a great defender.

Brewer has lockdown-defender potential. He's certainly known for his defense.

I like Brewer but I think Thabo will fulfill that role for the Bulls.

See, while Brandan Wright might be a bit of a slouch and not much of a workout guy, I think Scott Skiles would be perfect for him. Skiles won't put up with that kind of garbage from anyone. Plus, if Wright falls to 9, he might get a chip on his shoulder that'll help with getting his motivation up.

He's intriguing to me, at the least.

Yeah, I cut short my post. I meant to say that Thabo can probably defend as well as Brewer in the long term, and I'm not sold on his offense. I think he's going to underwhelm.

Do you think Marc Gasol will be there for us in the 2nd round? I'd certainly rather take him than JamesOn Curry.

Corey Brewer is a fantastic defender with potential to be one of the better defenders in the NBA. I think his shooting does need to improve but I believe Brewer, Horford and Noah are better offensive players than they showed at Florida when they had to share the ball.

If you need motivation to have a shot at guaranteeing yourself millions of dollars as an NBA lottery pick, you probably aren't going to be successful.

I think Pax takes Noah if he is on the board. Last year he went with athleticsim over polish....this year he does the reverse.

How so? Noah's athletic and his offensive game lacks polish.

He isn't athletic as guys like Wright, or Yi. His offensive game may lack polish, but he is NBA ready in terms of Defense and rebounding.

Yi declined the combine so we don't have numbers for him, but Noah tested out higher than Wright ranking 43rd overall versus 61st overall for Brandon. Columns in order are PLAYER, NO STEP VERTICAL, MAX VERTICAL, BENCH PRESS, LANE AGILITY, 3/4 CRT SPRINT, OVERALL RANK

Joakim Noah 32.5 37.5 12 11.79 3.47 43
Brandan Wright 30.5 35.5 2 11.76 3.31 61

It'd take those stats with a grain of salt. Noah is 22 Wright is 19. Wright is going to get a lot stronger and if his bench were the same as noahs it'd be a draw.

Frankly, I'm still holding out hope that the Bulls will trade up from the second round into the late first to snag someone like Alando Tucker, Gabe Pruitt, Arron Afflalo, or even Sean Williams or Kyle Visser.

I think I may be the only one here...but I'd like to see the Bulls take a flyer on Big Baby, if he is there in round 2. Has anyone seen him lately...guy has dropped a ton of weight.

He recently sprained his ankle so I don't know how that will affect his stock. But if you remember, Glen Davis simply ABUSED Lemarcus in the NCAA Tourney last year.

Yep, which is why I said I'd prefer Wright over Noah above.

I was just pointing out that Wright is not more athletic than Noah, and even if he develops into a better athlete, Noah is still very athletic for his size.

I'll be pissed if the Bulls take Noah. What you see is what you get...he's not going to get much better.

I love Corey Brewer (I think of Tayshaun Prince).

I also think Crittenton is going to be a guy to watch from this draft. His body reminds me a lot of Billups.

He should be gone long before the Bulls pick in the 2nd. I bet he falls in the 17-24 range of the first round.

hmm..nbadraft.net had him in the mid 2nd. I think I should stop visiting that site. They seem pretty off base.

I've read that the Bulls will take Noah if he's there. If not, Hawes. I too am starting to warm up to Noah, despite the fact that I would have to look at his face for way too many games. I think he can hit a mid-range jumper. He's a better rebounder and shot blocker than PJ at this stage. He's a good finisher around the rim.

Any chance the Bulls look to trade Ben Wallace if they draft a big man? Maybe in a deal to Memphis with Gordon for Gasol? Maybe in an effort to get back into the Kobe sweepstakes?

I don't think he'll go that high, but he definitely won't be there for the Bulls in the 2nd. I'm thinking more 24-30.

Farhan (Rio Rancho, NM): What are the chances the Bulls don't pick a big? Do they really like Noah, he seems awfully redundant with Wallace and Thomas, but seems to be getting high praise from Paxson.

SportsNation Chad Ford: Noah fits their draft strategy. Winning program, active kid, plays defense. But you're right, you can't play him and Wallace or even Tyrus Thomas together ... not yet anyway. Sounds like if Noah's not there, Spencer Hawes is the guy.

If Big Baby is drafted in the first round, somebody is getting ripped off.

Uh, why can't you play 2 of Wallace, Thomas, Noah together? That makes no sense.

Count on him being drafted in the first.

Right now I would take Noah over Hawes. Hawes has some really nice post moves, but these two things scare me.

1) He is still raw

2) Isn't athletic

That isn't a good combo IMO. Noah is a safe pick. He has an NBA body, and should be a great defender off the bat. If the Bulls traded Ben Wallace down the line, I could see Noah filling in nicely at C, with TT at PF.

This is my concern.

Ugly, yes, but I'm more worried that he's going to usurp Rasheed Wallace's title as biggest crybaby in the league

I don't know. I think Chad's underestimating Thomas' potential to become an offensive force.
