I too am starting to warm up to Noah, despite the fact that I would have to look at his face for way too many games.

This is my concern.

Ugly, yes, but I'm more worried that he's going to usurp Rasheed Wallace's title as biggest crybaby in the league

Haha, I could see Rasheed kicking the crap out of him strictly for being annoying.

I've read that the Bulls will take Noah if he's there. If not, Hawes. I too am starting to warm up to Noah, despite the fact that I would have to look at his face for way too many games. I think he can hit a mid-range jumper. He's a better rebounder and shot blocker than PJ at this stage. He's a good finisher around the rim.

Any chance the Bulls look to trade Ben Wallace if they draft a big man? Maybe in a deal to Memphis with Gordon for Gasol? Maybe in an effort to get back into the Kobe sweepstakes?

Paxson doesn't want to get into the Kobe sweepstakes.

Right now I would take Noah over Hawes. Hawes has some really nice post moves, but these two things scare me.

1) He is still raw

2) Isn't athletic

That isn't a good combo IMO. Noah is a safe pick. He has an NBA body, and should be a great defender off the bat. If the Bulls traded Ben Wallace down the line, I could see Noah filling in nicely at C, with TT at PF.

With Tyrus, Wallace, and Noah....the Bulls could easily lead the East in offensive boards. Somewhat of a problem last year, and a big reason Cleveland won the East. Noah reminds me of Varejao, but more athletic and better offensively.

That and my desire to punch him in the face every time I see him.

Uh, why can't you play 2 of Wallace, Thomas, Noah together? That makes no sense.

I don't know. I think Chad's underestimating Thomas' potential to become an offensive force.

right. I think he's assuming that they would be 2 defense/rebounding first, scoring second big men on the floor at the same time. It didn't stop Skiles from playing Ben and TT together, so...

Yeah, it's Hawes' terrible rebounding rate that gives me pause. A center with plenty of post moves that can't rebound and plays so-so D? We've been down that road before.

If no trades (and seriously doubt Pax has the stones to pull one off), I could live with a draft that nets:

Noah

Gasol

JamesOn Curry (sleeper!!!)

That could be a slight problem.

If the Bulls packaged their 2nd rounders, how high could they move? 6-7 spots?

In this draft? They couldn't move up at all. They'd have to give up a core guy to move up 2, 3 spots.

One article I remember reading back in march in CBS Sportsline talked about Noah's character in a postitive light. Sure, he's a crybaby, but the article talked about how open and friendly Noah was to his fans, something that the article said is rare for college players. It also talked about him being a good person. It was a long time ago, so I can't find a link, but I thought it was a good article and liked Noah because of it. Reminder: the article mentioned nothing about skills, solely his character.

Why do you say that? The middle to end of the 2nd round isn't that great. Some teams may want the 2 picks.

On top of that..he is a fan of FoxNews...

Your favorite media people are all from the right -- Limbaugh, Coulter, people like that? "O'Reilly sometimes; I don't know about all the time with him. (Sean) Hannity, guys like that ... FOX news is the only news for me."

UW is a pretty liberal campus. How did people react to your views? "Oh, I never heard that much (about them). Like I'd go to a Young Republicans meeting. People didn't give me too much crap for it."

What a tool..LOL

That could be a great draft. I'm thinking the 2 2nd rounders will be gone, though.

I think there was a misunderstanding here.

Pitchcs, you meant if you give up the #49 and #51 could you get, say, the #40 pick instead, and I think that is the case.

I believe 1908 thought you were trying package #49 and #9 to try and move up "6-7" spots. Clearly that wouldnt happen.

Misread your post. Thought you were talking about moving up in the first round.

Yes, Garwilly is correct. I meant swapping both 2nd rounders for a slightly higher 2nd rounder. Not sure the Bulls would do that, or another team for that matter, but it could make sense.

I think there could be a lot of trades in this draft, thus....none will happen. Last year was a pretty wild draft, though, so maybe that trend will continue.

If Atlanta is truly holding up the Stoudamire/Garnett deal, they are stupid not to give up their 2 picks. Phoenix is also stupid for doing this deal also as Amare is a better player than Garnett at this stage.

Agree completely.

Everywhere I look in mock drafts I see Noah coming to the Bulls. Can he score?

He can underneath the basket, but can't really generate his own that much.

I think he can score better than he did at UF. Maybe not initially, but he's a guy that can get 10ppg based on his offensive rebounding ability, his ability to finish, his ability to run the floor on the break better than most big man in the NBA (whereas in college he faced guys just as athletic and young), and simply by playing in a NBA style offense, where spacing tends to be better.

I'm betting he can hit an elbow/baseline jumper as well as PJ Brown does now. Couple that with his motor, ability to rebound and run the floor, and pass, and his size, and I don't see how he can't help this team down low.

So basically, it would be fine to take him, but we still need a big man down low?

Yep. To add to that, he's got great hands, he's an excellent passer, and he's got a great handle for someone his size. Florida would use him to help break full-court pressure.
