Make sense?

Brown is an unrestricted free agent. If he doesn't retire, I suspect he's going to be looking for a ring. Can't see him agreeing to go to Minn, or any other non-contender other than his home town team (New Orleans), no matter what the salary.

PJ's dollar value is infinitely higher in a potential sign and trade than on the open market.

he might sign for vet minimum for a team. in a sign and trade, he could make a significant amount more than that.

Moreover, a one year deal at such a price behooves the team that receives him b/c they will be able to clear that cap space for the 08' FA class.

Screw that, if there's a trade involving Garnett, take him over Kobe. Garnett would be a perfect fit and solve a heck of a lot of the Bulls' woes underneath.

I agree with that. Kobe would be a huge get and make the Bulls the Eastern Conference favorites. Garnett would be a huge get and make the Bulls a NBA Champion contender. (I am assuming similar deals would be traded for each)

Nah...gimme Kobe. Best player in NBA and more good years left (Big men get older quicker).

FWIW, the Lakers are saying they won't trade him and Phil Jackson thinks he'll be back. In other words, he's as good as gone

I'm not sure if I should get excited about this Kobe business or not.

On one hand, if it turns out how Ryno speculates, that would be pretty awesome, on the other hand, if it doesn't and still happens, I'll be pretty pissed.

I would rather have Kobe then Garnett.

Understood. I even addressed salary in my previous comment. Again, he's 38; he's made his money; he does not have a ring; I suspect he has higher priorities.

Daily Herald[/url]"]While discussing Bryant’s situation on ESPNews, NBA analyst Ric Bucher said the Lakers “have talked to the Chicago Bulls.” Reached by e-mail late Tuesday, Paxson wrote that the report was not true.

...

Of course, whether the Bulls could work out an equitable trade for the high-scoring Lakers star is questionable. There have been rumors of a three-way trade involving Boston that would send Paul Pierce to Los Angeles, Bryant to the Bulls and unknown assets to the Celtics.

To even match Bryant’s $19.5-million salary, the Bulls would most likely either have to include Ben Wallace in any trade, which would leave them without a center, or wait until after July 15 to toss in one or more of their current free agents in a sign-and-trade transaction.

only thing I heard today was the potential Garnett to Boston scenario

Sounds like KG nixed that idea.

If so, KG is very smart.

Whats everbodys opinion on Jameson Curry? Apparently the Bulls are looking at him with their 2nd round pick.

An intriguing second-round possibility, Oklahoma State guard JamesOn Curry, also remained in the draft.

The Bulls brought Curry to Chicago to meet with Paxson and coach Scott Skiles regarding his arrest in high school for marijuana possession. A team source said those interviews went well.

Several media outlets have reported the Bulls promised the 6-3 Curry they would select him with the 49th overall pick in the second round. Bulls officials strongly deny this, and any promise that deep in the second round would hold little impact since so many scenarios could develop beforehand.

He's a very intriguing player. Could have been a stud at UNC had he not gotten into trouble his senior year. Was one of the top high school players in the country his senior season.

Lot of untapped potential and a nice low risk/potential high reward player in the late second round.

Do it Pax.

That was exactly my thinking. Im pretty surprised they think he will fall that far.

I'd be happy with Curry in the 2nd round.

Takes Duhon's place. He's better than Duhon. Curry is extremely talented.

The latest mock on nbadraft.net has the Bulls taking Cory Brewer.

Thoughts?

Brewer is a hell of an athlete so I wouldn't mind the pick. You really can't reach in the NBA draft at all. So I wouldn't mind stockpiling another talented piece then possibly looking at a trade down the line.

Can't see the Bobcats passing on him at 8 if he's still there.

I like Draft Express' mock better with the Bulls taking Brandan Wright.

Isn't Brandan Wright the guy who won't work out against anyone else?

He's one of them. Durant and Oden are two others. It's not uncommon. Thomas didn't work out against anyone last year.
