  1. 1. Do you edit/proofread your posts?

    • I reread it after I'm done for clarity, but NOT grammar

    • I reread it, then go back to fix EVERYTHING I see (english teacher option)

    • I try my best and usually proofread . . . but I wouldn't know what a run-on sentence is anyway.

    • I only read it as I'm typing it - then I leave it for others to make sense of if necessary

i generally write pretty well the first time. on message boards, i don't usually bother with capitalization or whatnot, and firefox 2.0 does the "red underline" on misspelled words, so that helps.

Yes. I hate when my post doesn't have correct grammar, although I don't mind that much if it is the case with others as long as I can understand it.

I try to read my posts again, but most of my proof-reading is done as I type. If I see a mistake afterward though, I'll usually edit my mistake.

Usually when I'm posting I'm also doing other things as well. I'm very good at multi-tasking. However, multi-tasking creats errors and this is a message board for baseball and not an English class. Most of the time it's not hard to get the jist even if all the words aren't spelled correctly and the grammar is poor.

There's a way to edit a post?

I don't spell that well and my grammar is below average and I try to edit as much as possible. There are certain words that I screw up consistantly that drive me to maddness and no matter waht I spell them wrong the first time even though I do know how to spell them.

My mother was an English and Journalism major and my dad is an English professor, so yeah, I edit my posts for everything I catch.

Yeah, my mom was an English and Journalism major too and is an editor, so I definitely proof all my posts.

So you consistently misspell "consistently" as "consistantly."

I reread everything I write, but since I'm not a native English speaker, that doesn't always help.

Thanks for helping a native English speaker feel worse!
