LSU vs ND in the Sugar. That's a home game for LSU. Geaux Tigers!

My hope is that the fact that LSU's offense isn't that great will make it a good defensive struggle.

My feeling is that LSU's offense will suddenly become really good against Rick Minter's terrible schemes + our terrible secondary.

If nothing else, it's going to be really interesting. This is really the first time Weis will have coached against a team that's somewhere in between "cruddy" and "world-beaters".

LSU's running game isn't that great. They pass very well. The problem has been is that Les Miles is a moron and tries to run the ball until the fourth quarter and he finally wakes up and starts to let Russell do his thing.

Had LSU quit trying to run on Auburn sooner, I think they would've won that game.

ESPN has a poll. Here are 3 of the questions with the results of 150,000

Who should play OSU?

Florida 52: Michigan 48

Whose offense would cause more problems for OSU?

Florida 40: Michigan 60

Whose defense would cause more problems for OSU?

Florida 43: Michigan 57

So Florida must have an unbelievable special teams for them to be a better team and play OSU in the minds of these people. This is a great example of who people think is the better team but side the 'no rematch' dribble.

Or they hate Coach Carr! That's a funny poll.

It's not dribble. I'm guessing you might feel differently if you weren't a Michigan fan.

I absolutely hate Michigan but thing they should go the National Championship. call me weird, I just think the two best teams should play for the National Championship and the decision shouldn't come down to a media created desire to not have a repeat game in the NC.

repeats have happened several times over the past few years and it was never an issue before.

According to the LA Times, Florida will be playing Ohio State in the National Title game.

:D

I figured that's what would happen.

Once again the BCS fails. Not because Michigan didn't make it. But because the system offers no sure way of making a positive determination between teams such as Michigan and Florida.

Hopefully this will force some changes. Probably not though.

yep, it's on after the nfl games. not sure what time though.

7 central.

Is it just BCS,or all bowl games?

Just BCS, I think. ESPN has a bowl selection show for all the bowls at 9 central tonight.

A lot of people - myself included - don't want a rematch either. Michigan had their chance to beat Ohio State in the last game they played. They lost. I'd like to see Florida, a one-loss team from what's probably the best conference in college football, get their shot at Ohio State.

it's about 50/50. had the media not made so much of it these past few weeks. I don't think anybody even contemplates it.

like I said though. repeats have happened all the time and nobody said anything about it before. why now? and why the sudden change in philosophy by the voters? they're obviosly just responding to the 'no repeat' sentiment that has taken over the discussion.

also, who cares about what conference they come from. Michigan has only one loss too. I personally think a rematch would be incredibly compelling. no Bo Schembechler distration, neutral field. damn that would be a good game. but no, it will be a boring game decided about half way through the second quarter.

Most years when there are rematches, they're a rematch from something that happened much earlier in the year - not a rematch of the last game that each team played.

also, who cares about what conference they come from.

In that case, why don't we send Boise State or Louisville to the national championship game? They have 0 and 1 loss, respectively.

my point about the conference is the Nat. Champ. should be the two best teams, regardless of whether and when those two might have played each other before or what conference they are from

What about Florida and Florida State in 1996?

This is an absolute screw job for Michigan.

Answer me this: If USC won yesterday, what do you think the BCS standings would look like today?

1. OSU

2. USC

3. Michigan

4. Florida

The coaches screwed us again just like 1997. You don't have to like us, you have to remain unbiased. Very pathetic.

That's a good point. I never thought about it that way. It would be one thing if Michigan lost to Ohio State early in the year.

I don't think it will be a good game but UF-OSU should be the title game even though I think Michigan is better than UF.

Posted
UM wouldn't have been in a position to get screwed if these same coaches hadn't kept them 2nd even though Ohio State controlled the entire game and it would've been a rout but for two stupid turnovers

How far would you be willing to go with that logic? If Arkansas beat Florida yesterday then what? Does Louisville go to the title game then? West Virginia? Boise? Arkansas?

The "screw records, conferences, and game resumes, vote for the best team" argument is pretty laughable.

As is the put an inferior team in the title game argument.

As is the "Michigan is the better team and deserves to play for the national championship even though there's no evidence of this" argument

Huh, Arkansas *is* going to teh Capital One Bowl after all. Interesting.

oh, it's on Warp.

I don't like the Badgers chances. their D is much more geared to stopping the pass. maybe they can stack the box and stuff McFadden and let Dick do nothing.
