It's not hard to grasp. If the Cubs aren't going to be successful, it'd be best for them to be horrible so the appropriate front office changes are more likely to be made, in order for them be successful in the future.

That's a ridiculous philosophy! Let's tank the year to get better for the future? Haven't we tanked enough years in the past 97 years? What makes you think that giving up on this year will make us better for next year? Makes no sense. I would rather see all the players have good years and that will bold well for next year. I want to see Cedeno, Murton, RAM, Lee, Marshall, etc. excel and get better for next year. If you watch the Cubs hoping for them to lose, why watch them?

baker's probably gone anyway. this ain't like managing in sf... if the cubs make the playoffs, then he might stay. big MIGHT there, cause he "might" take that success and run elsewhere.

I'd be surprised if he stays. I think he'll get a deal elsewhere...Seattle perhaps?

being horrible means either a lot of guys will have to suck or a lot of guys have to be injured.

if a lot of guys suck, then that means the cubs will basically have to start over next year. if there's lots of injuries, then the cubs have a bunch of guys who may not be very reliable. been there... done that...

i'll just root for wins cause i think baker tells the city to kiss his rear after 2006.

someone mentioned arizona as a possible destination. he might sit out a year too or maybe try to get on w/ espn.

anywhere on the west coast suits him much better.

Exactly right! No matter what Baker will not be back next year...He's gone next year. He'll leave via FA. You can forget about Sweet Lou coming here after seeing what Baker went through the past 4 year, no way would he come here.

ESPN is getting bad enough as it is. Could you imagine if Dusty were in the booth doing games? That's a horrible thought.

Sadly, it only lasted for about five seconds here.

But the radar doesn't look that bad. It'll probably start under a delay, but right now, it doesn't look that bad for tonight.

There are field box seats behind home plate available for Wood's season debut tomorrow. It's a value date, too.

I had marbles. The hail only lasted about 20 minutes though.

I would like everyone to know that i started drinking out of the firehouse fire hydrant again yesterday, and we won.

Had another drink on my way home today, about 15 minutes ago

LETS WIN 79 GAMES EVERY SEASON AND BE MEDIOCRE FOREVER

I'm not even gonna argue with this. But I will say one thing, we need to start making some front office and roster moves right away.
