Don't the Cubs have another game with the Reds tomorrow?

Why is there so much speculation that a trade would happen in the middle of a series? Are the Reds supposed to help us out even more by trading us Dunn, yet having him sit in the last two games of the series as well?

If a deal is made, I wouldn't expect to hear an announcement until the press conference following Thursday's game.

I hope I'm wrong about this but there are a lot of 1 to 5 post, posters (people who post) posting (that has to be a record) in this thread. I smell a rat or two. I think we are being scammed by a group of trolls.

Allow me to reopen Dunn speculation...

Baker and Hendry are starting Burnitz in CF because that's where they're planning on playing him for the rest of the season. Dunn will be in left and Gerut/Holly/Murton will play RF. Of course this means Hairston has been added to the list of players moving to Cincinatti.

*Sigh*

I don't wanna get my hopes up. I just came home, read the original message and checked to see if Dunn is in Cincy's lineup, of course he is. That dissapointed me. But I still think it's possible we could get him.

I think we just have a lot of new traffic here due to all the extra exposure NSBB is creating these days.

I think we should give the benefit of the doubt until there is reason to pull the plug on our newbies. All of us were new here at one time.

Wow. If he isn't already laughing, I certianly am.

Because he got people to talk about the Cubs possibly trading for Dunn? Takes a lot of skill to do that around here.

For those that have had their head in this thread all day just thought I would throw in that Flip Saunders will be named pistons coach tomorow and teddy bruschi will not play next year for the patriots.

Now back on target we still have 24 hours before our tip goes bad and as far as i am concerned as long as a player is on the roster then he is an asset to be used to win, not to sit because trade talks are going on.

How does the Rockies 3rd baseman help you lose weight?

Just because he is in the lineup, doesn't mean anything. Players have started a game, and have been removed DURING the game, as a trade gets closer to being finalized. It has happened numerous times before.

The Reds still have to do their best to win every time they get on the field so Narron shouldn't care if a deal is proposed or even close. If I was in his place I'd want Dunn it the lineup today.

There have been 50+ Dunn threads since the start of the season. This one more doesn't really hurt anything. Even if his "rumor" was a falsehood, someone else would have started one asking why we aren't pursuing Dunn, since we really should be. Why wouldn't we be?

It's only a long week to the trade deadline. Many more new threads will be started in the next week asking about this guy and that guy until the deadline has passed.

Let's focus the energy towards the topic rather than who started the topic. As we mods have shown in the past, we don't tolerate trolling here and those that do troll here don't simply come back under a new screen name. They are gone for good.

Let's just give benefit of the doubt and get back on topic.

Well, he's my fantasy 3b, and he's ruined my appetite on occasion.

Sorry for the long delay guys, I was out excercising for a while, just got home and called up my source. He had some new info for me:

The trade is definitely still on. Dunn being in the lineup tonight for Cincy really doesn't mean anything, the trade is likely to be completed/announced by tomorrow. The Reds want to wait until this series is over to complete the deal, so expect an announcement tomorrow evening. Cincinnati called up Kearns in order to take Dunn's place when he is dealt (I figured this would be the case, it made no sense for them to call up Kearns without an available slot for him to play in).

Oh boy, this should spark at least 28 more pages by tomorrow evening.

I fully expect this thread to rival the chitchat thread.
